Abstract: A welding gun comprising a welding handle and at least one interchangeable assembly. A plurality of interchangeable assemblies are securable to the welding handle to enable the welding gun to be configured for operation in a plurality of welding applications. A first interchangeable assembly enables the welding gun to receive gas and wire. A second interchangeable assembly enables the welding gun to receive flux and wire. The welding gun is coupled to a power source. The welding gun may be coupled to a flux reservoir or a source of gas. The welding gun may be coupled to the system by a cable operable to convey wire, gas, and flux to the welding handle.

Abstract: The invention relates to a welding track detection and control method of plate butt weld based on laser ranging, including the following steps: A. track detection is carried out; B. track identification and extraction are carried out; C. track control is carried out; D. the relative position relation between a welding gun and a welding seam is adjusted at last by performing mechanism actions. In the invention, the information of welding seam profile is obtained by transverse scanning of a laser sensor, and welding seam is rebuilt after effective wave filtering treatment to realize three-dimensional detection of the welding seam; simultaneously, the welding track curve is obtained by fit while detecting welding seam by using dynamic B spline fit algorithm, and the track control is carried out in combination with constant speed B spline track interpolation algorithm, thereby fundamentally solving the problem of track detection and control in automatic welding of plate butt weld. By usingthe method in the invention, the field test welding has welding profile identification precision of 0.15mm and welding track identification precision of 0.2mm, and the welding speed is more than fourtimes of common manual welding.

Abstract: In this study, the stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of samples fabricated from AZ31 Mg alloy by laser butt welding was investigated in slow strain rate tensile (SSRT) and constant load tests. The results show that the laser butt welded AZ31 Mg samples are highly susceptible to SCC. The failure of the samples occurred in the fusion boundary when tested in corrosion environment in contrast to failures in the fusion zone (FZ)/base region observed for tests in air. It is suggested that weakening of the fusion boundary is due to the localized corrosion attack along the region.
