TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a systematic approach to design the output filter of a 10 kW, low-voltage 400 V ll, rms, four output phase, hard-switched AC source based on the Three-Level Neutral Point Clamped Voltage Source Converter topology.
Abstract: This paper proposes a systematic approach to design the output filter of a 10 kW, low-voltage 400 V ll,rms , fouroutput phase, hard-switched AC source based on the Three-Level Neutral Point Clamped Voltage Source Converter topology. Given specifications of the AC source, such as the voltage quality, the control performance or the conducted EMI at the output of the source, are translated into corresponding families of curves in the parameter space of the output filter. The area/volume enclosed by these curves represents the design space of the output filter in which all tuples (L f , C f ), e.g. for a single-stage LC-filter, fulfill every single AC source specification. From all possible filter parameters in the design space, the set of parameters resulting in the smallest filter volume, the lowest filter weight, the highest filter efficiency and/or the lowest filter costs can be selected.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a multiplexer with a plurality of bandpass filters coupled through E-plane or H-plane T-junctions to a waveguide manifold.
Abstract: A multiplexer has a plurality of bandpass filters coupled through E-plane or H-plane T-junctions to a waveguide manifold. Where the multiplexer has four channels and each filter is a six-pole filter, two triple mode cavities make up each filter. Where each filter is a five-pole filter, one triple cavity and one dual mode cavity makes up each filter. Two band edge channel filters are operated to produce an asymmetrical filter function response, thereby causing extra transmission zeros to be created and improving the selectivity of the filter out of the passband. The multiplexer is designed for use in satellite communication systems and can have a reduced volume and weight when compared to previous multiplexers without any sacrifice in electrical performance.

TL;DR: In this paper, a dual-band bandpass filter using microstrip open-loop resonators is presented, which can be used as unit element of duan-band filter design.
Abstract: This paper presents a novel dual-band banpass filter using microstrip open-loop resonators. A new microstrip unit of dual-band bandpass filter is introduced, which can be used as unit element of duan-band filter design. The two open-loop resonators are treated as passband resonator and stopband resonator in analysis, respectively. A five-pole C-band dual-band bandpsss filter has been designed and fabricated. The measured results show a good agreement with the simulated results.

TL;DR: In this paper, a technique for evaluating the probability of error for an optically preamplified receiver with a fiber Fabry-Perot optical filter of arbitrary bandwidth between the pre-amplifier and photodiode is presented.
Abstract: A technique is presented for evaluating the probability of error for an optically preamplified receiver with a fiber Fabry-Perot optical filter of arbitrary bandwidth between the preamplifier and photodiode. The technique permits simultaneous consideration of the distortion due to modulator chirp and fiber dispersion, the optical filter and the baseband electrical filter. The optical filter is characterized by a Lorentzian passband response, and the quadrature noise processes due to the amplified spontaneous emission are represented by Karhunen-Loeve expansions. For an arbitrary optical filter bandwidth, the evaluation of the probability of error depends explicitly on the details of the Karhunen-Loeve expansion. The solution procedure is general and consequently can, in principle, be applied to other filter passband responses. The influence of the bandwidths of the optical and electrical filters on the performance of a 10 Gb/s system is assessed.

TL;DR: In this paper, an electronically tunable current-mode (CM) universal biquad filter is proposed, which simultaneously realizes standard filter functions such as low-pass (LP), band- Pass (BP), and high-Pass (HP) responses.
Abstract: In this paper, an electronically tunable current-mode (CM) universal biquad filter is proposed. The proposed filter employs three dual-X second-generation current conveyors (DXCCIIs), two grounded capacitors and four NMOS transistors acting as resistors. The proposed filter simultaneously realizes standard filter functions such as low-pass (LP), band-pass (BP), and high-pass (HP) responses. The notch (NH) and all-pass (AP) functions can also be obtained by connecting appropriate output currents directly without using additional active elements. The output signals are obtained at high output impedance terminals, which is important for easy cascading in CM operation. SPICE simulation results are given to verify the theoretical analyses.
