TL;DR: In this article, a filter tuning method based on the match of measured and computed input impedances for a short-circuited filter is described, and two singly terminated filters, an 8-pole Chebyshev filter and a 6-pole pseudoelliptic function filter, are tuned using this method.
Abstract: This paper describes a filter tuning method based upon the match of measured and computed input impedances for a short-circuited filter. Two singly terminated filters, an 8-pole Chebyshev filter, and a 6-pole pseudoelliptic function filter tuned by using this method have demonstrated excellent performance.

TL;DR: In this paper, a kind of improved Butterworth low pass filter is proposed, whose n poles are chosen from poles of (n+2)th order Butterworth Low Pass Filter.
Abstract: The conventional Butterworth low pass filter exists the contradiction problems between test precision, stability and response time, so a kind of improved Butterworth low pass filter is put forth in this paper. Firstly nth order improved Butterworth low pass filter, whose n poles are chosen from poles of (n+2)th order Butterworth low pass filter, is deduced. Lastly, the improved Butterworth low pass filter is analyzed. Compared with the conventional Butterworth low pass filter of the same order, the improved Butterworth low pass filter has rapider response, smaller overshoot. This kind of filter can be used to enhance the test precision.

TL;DR: In this article, an active power filter for single-phase systems which are comprised of multiple nonlinear loads is presented, where the inverter switches are controlled to shape the current through the filter inductor such that the line current is in phase with and of the same shape as, the input voltage.
Abstract: This paper presents an active power filter for single-phase systems which are comprised of multiple nonlinear loads. The active filter is based on a standard H-bridge inverter. The AC side of the inverter is connected in parallel with the other nonlinear loads through a filter inductance; the DC side of the inverter is connected to a filter capacitor. The inverter switches are controlled to shape the current through the filter inductor such that the line current is in phase with, and of the same shape as, the input voltage. Sliding-mode control is used to perform the active wave-shaping of the current. The paper provides the details of the power circuit design, the details of the control design, representative waveforms, and spectral performance for a filter which supports a 364 W AC controller and a 884 W uncontrolled bridge rectifier. Experimental data indicate that the active filter typically consumes 3% or less of the average load power, suggesting that a parallel filter is an efficient compensation approach. The spectral performance of the active filter easily meets the constraints of IEC555. >

TL;DR: The elliptic filter introduced works well as compared to the Butterworth, chebyshev type I & type II with some limitations and in general overall filter works satisfactorily.
Abstract: Digital filters plays very important role in the processing of the low frequency signals. Numbers of biomedical signals are of the low frequency. The ECG signal, which preliminary represents the condition of the heart. It has the frequency range form. 5 Hz to 100Hz. Artifacts introduced in the signal create numerous difficulties against the physician. The work is the step in the direction for reduction of the artifacts using digital filter. The paper deals with design of the well-known elliptic filter in digital domain. The three filters of the elliptic approximation are designed and implemented on the real time ECG signal. The real time ECG signal is extracted using instrumentation designed with the help of the instrumentation amplifier from INA series. It is found that the elliptic filter introduced works well as compared to the Butterworth, chebyshev type I & type II with some limitations. In general overall filter works satisfactorily.

TL;DR: In this article, an extension of the Bessel filter is given for which the transfer function is a rational function with finite zeros, and a design example for a second-order all-pass constant time delay filter with linear phase response is given.
Abstract: An extension of the Bessel filter is given for which the transfer function is a rational function with finite zeros A special case is shown to combine the constant magnitude response of the all-pass filter with the linear phase response of the Bessel filter A design example for a second-order all-pass constant time delay filter is given; there is good agreement with theory
