Abstract: Hydration products of calcium silicates and calcium aluminates often are difficult to identify by X-ray methods. In this study the hydration products of the aluminate phase especially under the influence of additional chloride ions were studied. Special X-ray measurement conditions must be applied for accurate identification including 1. In situ control of relative humidity 2. Exclusion of CO2 from air 3. Facilities for easy sample access and exchange 4. Temperature control Proper conditions allows one to distinguish between several chloride containing hydration products of the aluminate phase of cement. For this investigation, a special climate chamber and a high temperature furnace with controlling atmosphere facilities was used.

TL;DR: In this paper, the ternary phase diagrams of Ce2O3-and CeO2-containing oxide systems are analyzed to find the oxide compounds that form during steel deoxidizing with cerium and with Cerium together with aluminum, calcium, magnesium, or silicon.
Abstract: Analysis of the ternary phase diagrams of Ce2O3- and CeO2-containing oxide systems allowed us to find the oxide compounds that form during steel deoxidizing with cerium and with cerium together with aluminum, calcium, magnesium, or silicon. The temperature dependences of the equilibrium constants of formation of Ce2O3 oxides and Ce2O3 · Al2O3, Ce2O3 · 11Al2O3, Ce2O3 · 2SiO2, 7Ce2O3 · 9SiO2 and Ce2O3 · SiO2 compounds are found. Surfaces for the component solubility in metallic melts Fe–Al–Ce–O–C, Fe- Ca–Ce–O–C, Fe–Mg–Ce–O–C, and Fe–Si–Ce–O–C are constructed. Nonmetallic inclusions that form in the course of experimental melts of St20 steel after its deoxidizing with silicocalcium and rare-earth metal (REM)-containing master alloys in a ladle furnace after degassing are studied. Phase inhomogeneity of the inclusions is found. As a rule, they consist of phases classified into the following three groups: oxide–sulfide, sulfide–oxide, and multiphase oxide–sulfide melt. Calcium aluminates are found to be components of complex sulfide-oxide noncorrosive inclusions.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a hydraulic composition for an additive manufacturing device, the composition having superior dimensional stability and initial flexural strength, and the composition including 1.5-14 parts of a polymer per 100 parts by mass of an inorganic binder.
Abstract: The present invention is a hydraulic composition for an additive manufacturing device, the composition having superior dimensional stability and initial flexural strength, and the composition including 1.5-14 parts by mass of a polymer per 100 parts by mass of an inorganic binder. The present invention preferably is a hydraulic composition for an additive manufacturing device, the inorganic binder including 50-100 mass% of calcium aluminates, where the entirety of the inorganic binder is 100 mass%, and more preferably is a hydraulic composition for an additive manufacturing device, the inorganic binder including 0-50 mass% of a rapid-hardening cement, where the entirety of the inorganic binder is 100 mass%.

TL;DR: In this paper, a mixture is prepared from calcium phosphate powder as an oxidising agent and aluminium metal as fuel, loaded into a closed reactor, heated until initialisation of the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) reaction and combustion conditions are maintained until the end of the reaction.
Abstract: FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of aluminate cement, portland cement and synthetic slag, fertilisers, detergents and thermal phosphoric acid. A mixture is prepared from calcium phosphate powder as an oxidising agent and aluminium metal as fuel. The mixture is loaded into a closed reactor, heated until initialisation of the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) reaction and combustion conditions are maintained until the end of the reaction. The solid product is a mixture of oxides of calcium and aluminium. ^ EFFECT: invention enables production of calcium aluminates and phosphorus gas from calcium phosphate in a single step, where the phosphorus gas can be used to obtain end products without additional purification. ^ 2 tbl, 2 ex
