TL;DR: In this article, asphaltene derived from brown coal was hydrogenated in the temperature range 375-450 °C with and without the addition of a sulphided nickel molybdate catalyst at initial hydrogen pressures from 2 to 10 MPa and the products were characterized by elemental analysis, non-aqueous titration for acidic oxygen, and 1 H n.m.r. spectroscopy.

••
TL;DR: In this article, a second-order regression model was used to explain the variation of total, coal, benzene soluble product (BSP) and asphaltene conversions with iron and sulfur dosage.

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance indices which enabled us to classify the different hydroaromatic solvents used in coal hydroliquefaction also made it possible to quantify the two decomposition mechanisms of benzylphenylether (BPE) in the presence of various catalysts.

TL;DR: In this paper, the liquefaction characteristics of two Colombian coal have been investigated using catalysis, and the results showed that the products obtained from both coals using a Ni catalyst were almost 100% soluble in THF.
