TL;DR: In this article, a shape offset-fed dual reflector antenna with a main reflector, a sub-reflector and a primary radiator is used to improve the side-lobe characteristics.
Abstract: OF THE DISCLOSUREA shaped offset-fed dual reflector antenna having a main reflector, a sub-reflector and a primary radiator which do not block the wave-path of said main reflector is improved by using a primary radiator inclined from a boresight axis of the antenna, and shaped non-quadratic surfaces in the main reflector and/or the sub-reflector, to provide the desired aperture field distribution, improved cross-polarization characteristics, and improved side-lobe characteristics. The incline angle of the primary radiator is in the range between 10 degrees and 40 degrees. When a gregorian type antenna is used, and the aperture field distribution is Tailor's-40 dB distribution, the incline angle is preferably 16 degrees.

TL;DR: In this paper, a rotatable twist reflector (the mirror) is used to reflect back energy reflected back toward the polarized reflector from the twisted reflector, which passes through the polarised reflector to free space.
Abstract: A mirror antenna employing a continuous mirror without a hole. A feed hornnd an electromagnetic lens, located behind a rotatable twist reflector (the mirror), collimates a beam toward a polarized reflector located near the twist reflector and tilted to aim energy toward the twist reflector. Energy reflected back toward the polarized reflector from the twist reflector passes through the polarized reflector to free space.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a review of some recent advances in microwave reflector antennas, and places emphasis on the work of the Electromagnetics Applications Group at Queen Mary College (QMC).
Abstract: The paper presents a review of some recent advances in microwave reflector antennas, and places emphasis on the work of the Electromagnetics Applications Group at Queen Mary College (QMC). After a brief historical review, the following classes of antenna are considered: pencil beam, shaped beam, beam scanning and multiple beam. The operation of these antennas is described in nonmathematical terms and their performance constraints are identified. Many new antennas and feeds are illustrated and their operation discussed. In nearly all cases, they have resulted from innovation coupled with computer-aided design methods. The latter development distinguishes antenna developments of the last decade from those of the past. It is expected that this feature of antenna design will be exploited still more in the future.

TL;DR: In this article, a parametric study of the constraints related to Gregorian/Cassegrain offset reflectors having negligible cross polarization was undertaken with the aid of design equations linking the defining parameters of the primary reflectors to those of the secondary reflectors.
Abstract: A parametric study of the constraints related to Gregorian/Cassegrain offset reflectors having negligible cross polarization was undertaken with the aid of design equations linking the defining parameters of the primary reflectors to those of the secondary reflectors. This study resulted in the mapping of a very large number of Gregorian/Cassegrain offset reflectors having negligible cross polarization. The domains of definition of the equations derived are deduced from geometrical considerations. Physical insights into the above constraints are presented. >
