TL;DR: Split-chamber pressure exchangers as mentioned in this paper can be used as surface or well pumping systems and the pumping fluid used can differ from the fluid to be pumped, such that said fluids cannot be mixed.
Abstract: The invention relates to split-chamber pressure exchangers. Split-chamber pressure exchangers are characterized in that the pressure exchange chambers and the pistons thereof are split in two. Each fluid passes through the corresponding chamber thereof, such that said fluids cannot be mixed. The cross sections of the chambers can be varied in order to vary the transmitted pressure. The reverse line operation can be established and synchronized using a U-shaped tube with telescopic sides and a fixed base filled with fluid or diametrically opposed curved lines, and multiple arrangements can be used. Split-chamber pressure exchangers can be used as surface or well pumping systems and the pumping fluid used can differ from the fluid to be pumped. Different levels of any material can be exploited at any storage site using a chamber with elastic walls filled with fluid and attached to the bottom. Electric power can be generated by centrifuging the pre-pumped fluid.

TL;DR: In this article, it was proved that the plasma jets had enough reactivity to form a hard and thick titanium nitride layer on the surface of a titanium plate by only a few minutes of plasma jet irradiation at 30 Pa chamber pressure.
Abstract: Plasma jets have been successfully used as heat sources of thermal plasma spraying process However, since the plasma jet is accelerated to supersonic under a low pressure environment, the plasma jets can be used as low temperature plasmas with high chemical reactivity due to supersonic adiabatic expansion and frozen flow From this viewpoint, nitriding of titanium plates using supersonic expanding nitrogen plasma jets under a low pressure environment was carried out in our previous study As a result, it was proved that the plasma jets had enough reactivity to form a hard and thick titanium nitride layer on the surface of a titanium plate by only a few minutes of plasma jet irradiation at 30 Pa chamber pressure In this study in order to develop a practical low temperature and high rate nitriding process, nitriding of nitriding steel, carbon steel and stainless steel using this process was carried out and wear resistance of these nitrided samples was investigated Consequently, surface hardening was obviously promoted on the condition that hydrogen/ nitrogen mixture gas were used as working gas in the cases of all substrates Especially, hard layers with over 1 000 Hv in hardness were formed without any surface damages on the surfaces of the samples by only 5 min of operation in the cases of nitriding steel and stainless steel Besides, according to the results of wear testing, wear resistance of these steels was dramatically improved

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a cascade-like device for regulating the gas supply in a gas storage system of a biogas system, where each gas store is assigned at least one gas supply mechanism and each intermediate chamber pressure measuring mechanism with which the gas pressure in the intermediate chamber of the respective gas store can be measured.
Abstract: A device for regulating the gas supply in a gas storage system of a biogas system, wherein the gas storage system has gas stores connected in series in a cascade-like manner with an intermediate chamber between a gas store membrane and a protective cover. The device comprises gas supply mechanisms, intermediate chamber pressure measuring mechanisms and at least one regulating mechanism, each gas store is assigned at least one gas supply mechanism, each gas store is assigned at least one intermediate chamber pressure measuring mechanism with which the gas pressure in the intermediate chamber of the respective gas store can be measured, and the measured values of the intermediate chamber pressure measuring mechanisms are transmitted to at least one regulating mechanism, and the regulating mechanism is designed to regulate the gas pressure in the intermediate chambers of the gas stores by controlling the gas supply mechanisms assigned to gas stores.

TL;DR: In this paper, an automobile air conditioning system with a demist switch for preventing the reduction of visibility through the windshield of the automobile is described, where the operation of the control valve overrides operation of a bellows without regard to the temperature signal when the demist switches are turned on.
Abstract: An automobile air conditioner system including a refrigerant circuit having a condenser, expansion element, evaporator and wobble plate type compressor with a variable displacement mechanism. Two passages communicate between the crank chamber and the suction chamber in the cylinder block. A bellows is disposed in a first passage and controls the communication between the crank chamber and the suction chamber response to crank chamber pressure. A control valve is disposed in the second passage and controls communication between the crank chamber and the suction chamber in the second passage in response to a signal representing the temperature of the air immediately leaving from the evaporator. An electric clutch is mounted on the compressor in order to intermittently transmit the rotational motion of an automobile engine to the drive shaft of the compressor in response to the signal. The automobile air conditioning system is provided with a demist switch for preventing the reduction of visibility through the windshield of the automobile. The operation of the control valve overrides the operation of the bellows without regard to the temperature signal when the demist switch is turned on.
