TL;DR: In this article, 14 medicinal plants were screened for determining inhibitory activities on monoamine oxidase B. The extracts of Artemisia Messer-Schmidtiana (herba), chrysanthemum indicum (flos),Ericibe obtusifolia (radix et rhizoma) andSophora japonica(flos) strongly inhibited the enzyme.
Abstract: Fourteen kinds of medicinal plants were screened for determining inhibitory activities on monoamine oxidase B. The extracts ofArtemisia Messer-Schmidtiana (herba),Chrysanthemum indicum (flos),Ericibe obtusifolia (radix et rhizoma) andSophora japonica (flos) strongly inhibited the enzyme. Among them, Chrysanthemi flos was chosen for elucidating its active principles, and some flavonoids were isolated and identified as acacetin (I), 5,7-dihydroxy chromone (II), diosmetin (III), apigenin (IV), eriodictyol (V) and luteolin (VI). IC50-dihydroxy chromone (II), diosmetin (III), apigenin (IV), eriodictyol (V) and luteolin (VI). IC50 were determined as following: I, 2.46; II, 0.19; III. 2.11mM, and the others showed weak inhibition.

TL;DR: It is shown that yejuhua lactone is a diguainolide with the formula of C_(32)H_(40)O_8· by comparison of spectral data, and is proved to be the same compound as handelin the structure of which was elucidated by V. A. Tarasov et al in 1976.
Abstract: Yejuhua lactone (C_(15)H_(18)O_4)was isolated in 1962 from yejuhua (the flowers of Chrysanthemum indicum L.), a commonly known Chinese medicinal herb. It was considered as a new sesquiterpene lactone with guainolide type whose partial structure was postulated in the following year, but the full structure remains unsolved. In this paper, the early empirical formula and some experimental results have been revised. On the basis of our studies, it is shown that the compound is a diguainolide with the formula of C_(32)H_(40)O_8·By comparison of spectral data (IR, ~1H NMR and ~(13)C NMR), yejuhua lactone is proved to be the same compound as handelin the structure of which was elucidated by V. A. Tarasov et al in 1976.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for the determination of acaciin in Chrysanthemum indicum was developed, which includes extraction, separation and determination of Acaciin, and the procedure is as follows:Weigh accurately 1 g of pulverized sample, put it in an extractor, extract the acaciIN with methanol for 2 h on a boiling water bath, then concentrate to 10 ml.
Abstract: A method for the determination of acaciin in Chrysanthemum indicum was developed. It includes extraction, separation and determination of acaciin. The procedure is as follows:Weigh accurately 1 g of pulverized sample, put it in an extractor, extract the acaciin with methanol for 2 h on a boiling water bath, then concentrate to 10 ml.Spot exatctly 300 μl of this solution on a polyamide plate and chromatograph with CHCl_3MeOH-H_2O (9:1:0.1) as the developing solvent. Detect the spots under UV light, scrape the acaciin spot from the plate, put into the anodic compartment of an electrolytic cell containing the electrolytic solution, and titrate coulometrically using a suitable constant current. The results obtained by this method are in agreement with those by UV spectrophotometry.
