TL;DR: The overall approach to the projects involved tapping the expertise and experience of transit bus driving instructors and operators, and drawing on past passenger and commercial vehicle collision warning and avoidance system research.
Abstract: Presented are the methods and findings of a study focused on the preliminary development of a driver-vehicle interface (DVI) for a transit bus frontal and side collision avoidance system (CAS). The overall approach to the projects involved tapping the expertise and experience of transit bus driving instructors and operators, and drawing on past passenger and commercial vehicle collision warning and avoidance system (CW/AS) research. Using these two sources of information, the transit bus operating environment was characterized and preliminary CAS system requirements and functions were identified. Based on an understanding of the transit bus environment and CAS functionality, an initial set of transit bus CAS DVI display concepts was generated. Recommendation for future human factors testing and evaluation of the preliminary display concepts are proposed.

TL;DR: This study built and realized the collision avoidance system for autonomous mobile robot by using antenna, IR and ultrasonic Sensors for collision avoidance, and made it possible to sense the attached and long-distance obstacle, and can avoid.
Abstract: Autonomous mobile robot has ability to move itself so it can access to danger area or narrow place, and send acquired data by sensors at the same time. In order to drive to directed place, it should progress to the destination without any collision to other robot. In this study, we built and realized the collision avoidance system for autonomous mobile robot. By using antenna, IR and ultrasonic Sensors for collision avoidance, we made it possible to sense the attached and long-distance obstacle, and can avoid. Also, we used wired and wireless network to send the data after the mission.

TL;DR: An anticollision device of car is composed of a distance measurer, microprocessor, brake controller and contacts as discussed by the authors, which is used to control brake, throttle and clutch.
Abstract: An anticollision device of car is composed of a distance measurer, microprocessor, brake controller and contacts. Its advantages are simple structure and reasonable control to brake, throttle and clutch.

TL;DR: This work is an attempt to develop a vehicle tracking system with multiple features in one system to deal with the severity of a collision to some extent for the common men.
Abstract: With one of the highest motorization growth rate in the world accompanied by rapid expansion in road network and urbanization over the years, our country is faced with serious impacts on road safety levels. Hence, detecting and recognizing moving vehicles in traffic scenes for traffic surveillance, traffic control, and road traffic information systems is an emerging research area for Intelligent Transportation Systems. Due to rapid increase in vehicles, there is exponential increase in accidents. Some costly cars had already implemented some in-built features (varying according to the company) of vehicle collision avoidance system but it's not affordable to every individual. Hence, this work is an attempt to develop a vehicle tracking system with multiple features in one system to deal with the severity of a collision to some extent for the common men. An important aspect of this collision avoidance system is the tracking of vehicle taillights and the detection of alert signals (turns and brakes). It further has the provision of counting the cars, detecting the obstacles coming while driving with the measurement of its distance from the driven vehicle. In addition, tracking of number plate of vehicle is also possible to figure out the vehicle causing accidents.

TL;DR: In this paper, the IDAAS project (Intruder Detection And collision avoidance System) meets the new challenges as it aims to produce technically advanced detection and collision avoidance systems for light and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Abstract: In the near future, the integration of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles into the common airspace will proceed. The changes taking place mean that the safety of light aircraft, ultralight aircraft and unmanned air vehicles (UAV) will become an increasing problem. The IDAAS project (Intruder Detection And collision Avoidance System) meets the new challenges as it aims to produce technically advanced detection and collision avoidance systems for light and unmanned aerial vehicles. The work discusses selected elements of research and practical tests of the intruder detection vision system, which is part the of IDAAS project. At the outset, the current formal requirements related to the necessity of installing anticollision systems on aircraft are presented. The concept of the IDAAS system and the structure of algorithms related to image processing are also discussed. The main part of the work presents the methodology developed for the needs of dedicated flight tests, its implementation and the results obtained. The initial tests of the IDAAS system carried out on an ultralight aircraft generally indicate the possibility of the effective detection of intruders in the airspace with the use of vision methods, although they also indicated the existence of conditions in which this detection may prove difficult or even impossible.
