TL;DR: In this article, a microbial strain belonging to the Streptomyces genus and capable of producing antibiotic substance PK-955A [preferably Staphylococcus sp.RK-9 55] is cultured at 7W7.5pH and 25W35°C preferably under aeration and agitation.
Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotic substance PK-955A having the following physical and chemical properties. Appearance, white crystalline powder; melting point, 217W220°C (Na slat); elemental analysis (%), C 64.58, H 9.30, O 23.41; [α]D 23 =+23° (C=0.5, CHCl 2 ); molecular weight, 738 (free) or 760 (sodium salt); solubility, soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, chloroform and ethyl acetate, insoluble in water; color reaction, positive to anisaldehydesulfuric acid reaction and negative to Lemieux reagent, ninhydrin reagent and KMnO 4 reaction; nature, acidic substance; etc. USE: Antibacterial agent and agricultural fungicide. PREPARATION: A microbial strain belonging to Streptomyces genus and capable of producing antibiotic substance PK-955A [preferably Streptomyces sp.RK-955 (FERM P-8660)] is cultured at 7W7.5pH and 25W35°C preferably under aeration and agitation. TL;DR: In this paper, a method and an instrument for measuring boron by which concentration of borons contained in a drain or environmental water can be measured accurately and easily though borofluoride ions exist.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an instrument for measuring boron by which concentration of boron contained in a drain or environmental water can be measured accurately and easily though borofluoride ions exist. SOLUTION: After a first reagent containing at least aluminum ions and/or iron ions is added to a sample liquid, a color reaction is caused by adding a second reagent containing at least 1-amino-8-hydroxynaphtalene-3,6-disulfonic acid-based azo dye and a chelating agent to the sample liquid. Thereafter, absorbance of the sample liquid is measured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

TL;DR: In this paper, an elution aqueous solution, which contains a color reagent and can elute a target component is dropped on a sample 2 to be tested on a water-repellent plate 1.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and speedily judge an elution amount of a predetermined component from many samples by setting a water-repellent plate, an aqueous solution for eluting a target component in the sample to be tested, an aqueous solution containing a color reagent making a color reaction to the target component and a separator for dropping the aqueous solution by every predetermined amount. SOLUTION: An elution aqueous solution 3 which contains a color reagent and can elute a target component is dropped on a sample 2 to be tested on a water-repellent plate 1. As a result, a drop of the aqueous solution in the shape of a pseudo ball is formed because of the water repellency of the plate 1, in which the sample 2 is enclosed. The target component in the sample 2 is eluted in the aqueous solution, and the eluted component and the color reagent progress a color reaction. Since the color reaction between the target component eluted from the sample 2 and the color reagent proceeds in the liquid drop 5 on the water-repellent plate 1, a concentration change of the target component can be recognized by visually judging a hue change of the liquid drop 5 by a naked eye 9.

TL;DR: A substance obtained by covalently bonding a protein having about 4.5 isoelectric point or a Maillard reaction product thereof to dextran having 1000-2000000 molecular weight is described in this paper.
Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:A substance obtained by covalently bonding a protein having about 4.5 isoelectric point or a Maillard reaction product thereof to dextran having 1000-2000000 molecular weight. Molecular weight; >=30000 [the sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) electrophoresis method]. Isoelectric point; about pH3.5 (the isoelectric focusing electrophoresis method). Protein content; 10-90% (the Lowry method). Sugar content; 10-90% (the phenol-sulfuric acid method). Solubility; readily soluble in water and insoluble in methanol, acetone, etc. Color reaction; positive to the biuret reaction, xanthoprotein reaction, etc. Action; inhibiting reaction for synthesizing adhesive and insoluble glucan by action of glucosyltransferase on sucrose. Distinction of acidic, basic and neutral; a weakly acidic aqueous solution. Color; white or light brown, etc. USE:An active ingredient of anticarious agents. PREPARATION:A protein having about 4.5 isoelectric point (e.g. casein) or a Maillard reaction product thereof is bonded to activated dextran.
