TL;DR: In this paper, a color reaction base material is formed by carrying copper nitrate and a humectant on a carrier as the reaction reagent color-reacting with a test gas, and a film 3 having permeability to the test gas.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure highly accurately hydrogen sulfide gas in a wide concentration range without changing the concentration of a reaction reagent of a carrier. SOLUTION: This material is constituted by being equipped with a color reaction base material 4 formed by carrying copper nitrate and a humectant on a carrier as the reaction reagent color-reacting with a test gas, and a film 3 having permeability to the test gas, and by laminating the film 3 at least on the inflow face side of the test gas of the color reaction base material 4. TL;DR: A method for the colorimetric determination of hexavalent tungsten with Alizarin red S has been described in this paper, where the composition of the coloured chelate is MKe2 and the wave length of maximum absorption is 470 nm.
Abstract: A method for the colorimetric determination of hexavalent tungsten with Alizarin Red S has been described. The composition of the coloured chelate is MKe2 and the wave length of maximum absorption is 470 nm. The colour reaction is almost instantaneous. The coloured complex conforms to Beer's Law over tungsten concentration of 0.37 to 13.3 ppm. The suitable pH for the measurement is 3.5 to 5.8 and temperature has no effect on the intensity of the colour. The sensitivity is 0.037 μg/cm2 (Sandell) and 0.37 μg/cm2 (practical) based on an absorption of 0.01 unit. The interference of added foreign ions has also been investigated and most of the common ions are found to interfere and should, therefore, be removed before determination of tungsten is made.

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple, rapid, and sensitive kinetic method has been developed for the determination of traces of sulfite (0.05-2.5 μg/ml) based on the addition reaction of sulfites with methyl green at pH 8 and 25°C.

TL;DR: The azomethine derivatives 8-hydroxy-1-(2-hydrox-1-naphthylbenzylideneamino)naphthalene-3,6-disulphonic acid (HSNHB) and HSNHN were synthesized in this paper.
Abstract: The azomethine derivatives 8-hydroxy-1-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthylbenzylideneamino)naphthalene-3,6-disulphonic acid (HSNHB) and 8-hydroxy-1-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthylmethyleneamino)naphthalene-3,6-disulphonic acid (HSNHN) were synthesised. HSNHB gives no colour reaction with boric acid, but HSNHN reacts with boric acid and produces a compound with maximum absorbance at 445 nm (pH 4) in a 30%V/V methanol-water solution. Beer's law is obyed between 0.25 and 2 µg ml–1 of boron. The molar absorptivity at 445 nm is 8700 l mol–1 cm–1. Interferences from Fe3+, Al3+ and Cu2+ are avoided by adding EDTA. This method has been applied to the determination of boron in natural waters and vegetable matter with good accuracy.
