TL;DR: In this paper, a non-autonomous nonlinear oscillator is proposed, which contains the integrator based second-order RC resonance loop, a comparator employed as a nonlinear device, and a buffer.
Abstract: A novel non-autonomous nonlinear oscillator is suggested. The oscillator contains the integrator based second-order RC resonance loop, a comparator employed as a nonlinear device, and a buffer. When externally forced with periodic signal Asin(/spl omega//sub d/f), it exhibits a chaotic response in the certain bands of A and /spl omega//sub d/ parameters.

TL;DR: In this paper, a latching comparator and associated method are disclosed that utilize resonant tunneling diodes, or other two-terminal devices possessing regions of negative differential operating resistance in their current-voltage characteristics, and Schottky dioders to provide high speed and reliable analog to digital conversions.
Abstract: A latching comparator and associated method are disclosed that utilize resonant tunneling diodes, or other two-terminal devices possessing regions of negative differential operating resistance in their current-voltage characteristics, and Schottky diodes to provide high speed and reliable analog to digital conversions. In one embodiment, the latching comparator includes a differential amplifier, resonant tunneling diodes, and cross-coupled resistors. The latching comparator may include mode selection circuitry having a track mode signal and a latch mode signal as inputs. In addition, the latching comparator may include a plurality of Schottky diodes connected in series with the resonant tunneling diodes and the cross-coupled resistors.

TL;DR: In this paper, a programmable frequency divider is used to analyze the phase of the internal signal and the reference signal and produce one logic state if the phase is in advance of the phase in a reference signal, and a second logic state otherwise.
Abstract: A device synchronizes an internal signal with respect to a reference signal, each signal comprising pulses normally occurring at a rated frequency. The device uses a phase comparator to analyze the phase of the internal signal and the reference signal and produce one logic state if the phase of the internal signal is in advance of the phase of the reference signal and a second logic state otherwise. A programmable frequency divider divides an internal clock signal by a first number if the phase comparator signal produces the first logic state or by a second number if the phase comparator produces the second logic state. A multiplexer provides the programmable divider with either the first number or the second number depending on the logic state produced the phase comparator. The device also includes a storage element for sequentially storing a predetermined number of the latest logic states of the phase comparator. The device also includes circuitry for decrementing the first number when the latest stored logic states of the phase comparator have a single occurrence of the first logic state and for incrementing the second number when the latest stored logic states of the phase comparator have a single occurrence of the second state.

TL;DR: In this article, a circuit for the surveillance of the switching state of a power transistor is constructed such that both, the voltage applied to the power transistor (1) is surveyed by way of a voltage comparator (7, 8), as well as the voltage applying to the load (3), by means of a further voltage comparators (8).
Abstract: A circuit for the surveillance of the switching state of a power transistor is constructed such that both, the voltage applied to the power transistor (1) is surveyed by way of a voltage comparator (7), as well as the voltage applied to the load (3) is surveyed by way of a further voltage comparator (8). The comparator (7) in the switched-on state and the comparator (8) in the switched-off state are activated by the input signal (UIN) of the power transistor (1). The output signals of the two comparators (7, 8) are combined to a status signal (UStat). It is possible by way of the proposed circuit to recognize both a short circuit or, respectively, a shunt circuit of the load as well as a leakage current of the power transistor (1) and thus an interruption of the load occurs.
