TL;DR: In this article, an osmotic device is described comprising a semipermeable wall surrounding a compartment housing an agent that is insoluble to very soluble in aqueous and biological fluids, and a layer of a fluid swellable, hydrogel.
Abstract: An osmotic device is disclosed comprising a semipermeable wall surrounding a compartment housing an agent that is insoluble to very soluble in aqueous and biological fluids, and a layer of a fluid swellable, hydrogel. A passageway in the wall connects the agent with the exterior of the device.

TL;DR: In this article, a surface cleaning apparatus comprises a body including a rear compartment, a forward compartment and an intermediate compartment arranged between the rear and forward compartments, and an elongate rotatable brush arrangement is positioned within and extends across the forward compartment.
Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus comprises a body including a rear compartment, a forward compartment and an intermediate compartment arranged between the rear and forward compartments. An elongate rotatable brush arrangement is positioned within and extends across the forward compartment. An electric motor is positioned in the rear compartment, and drive means extends between the rotatable brush arrangement and the electric motor.

TL;DR: Viscosupplementation is a new medical concept that has as its therapeutic goal the restoration of rheological homeostasis in pathological structures such as osteoarthritic joints.
Abstract: Viscosupplementation is a new medical concept that has as its therapeutic goal the restoration of rheological homeostasis in pathological structures such as osteoarthritic joints. When the normal viscoelasticity of a solid tissue compartment or the elastoviscosity of a liquid tissue compartment is decreased under pathological conditions, normal function and regenerative processes are impaired. By introducing viscosupplementary devices, the normal rheological state of such compartments is restored or augmented. These devices stay in the tissue compartment for various periods of time, depending on the nature of the viscosupplement and the pathophysiology of the tissue compartment.

TL;DR: The tumescent technique of lipo-suction is a modification of the wet technique that saves time in achieving maximal vasoconstriction of the targeted fat compartment and minimizes postsurgical irregularities or rippling of the skin.
Abstract: The tumescent technique of lipo-suction is a modification of the wet technique. A large volume of very dilute epinephrine is infiltrated into a targeted fat compartment prior to lipo-suction, produ...

TL;DR: In this article, a dispensing system for delivering a beneficial agent formulation instantly and continuously over time to an environment of use is described, consisting of a wall surrounding a compartment with a passageway in the wall connecting the compartment with the interior of the dispensing device.
Abstract: A dispensing system is disclosed for delivering a beneficial agent formulation instantly and continuously over time to an environment of use. The dispensing system comprises an outer housing surrounding at least a part of a dispensing device. The dispensing device comprises a wall surrounding a compartment with a passageway in the wall connecting the compartment with the interior of the dispensing device. A beneficial agent formulation is present in the housing for instant delivery and a beneficial agent formulation is present in the compartment for continuous delivery.
