TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate an abstract conceptualisation of Digital Ecosystems from a computer science perspective, and provide a conceptual framework for the cross pollination of ideas, concepts and understanding between different classes of ecosystems through the universally applicable principles of Complex Adaptive System (CAS) modelling.
Abstract: We investigate an abstract conceptualisation of Digital Ecosystems from a computer science perspective. We then provide a conceptual framework for the cross pollination of ideas, concepts and understanding between different classes of ecosystems through the universally applicable principles of Complex Adaptive System (CAS) modelling. A framework to assist the cross-disciplinary collaboration of research into Digital Ecosystems, including Digital Business Ecosystems (DBEs) and Digital Knowledge Ecosystems (DKEs). So, we have defined the key steps towards a theoretical framework for Digital the Ecosystems, that is compatible with the diverse theoretical views prevalent. Therefore, a theoretical edifice that can unify the diverse efforts within Digital Ecosystems research.

Abstract: Complex adaptive systems are the source of much intra-organizational conflict that will not be managed, let alone resolved. To foster learning, adaptation, and evolution in the workplace, organizations should capitalize on its functions and dysfunctions with mindfulness, improvisation, and reconfiguration.

TL;DR: A framework that combines MD’s situational context, developmental guidelines derived from the CAS theory, and examples of relevant MD practices is elaborated, which offers MD professionals a practical means to assess and strengthen MD‘s role in business.
Abstract: Today’s rapidly changing business environment makes organizations pay special attention to the functioning of their internal processes. Among other things, the processes of management development (MD) are expected to reflect better the new competitive reality, which is characterized by dynamism, connectivity, non-linearity and emergent properties. This article studies MD in the light of complex adaptive systems (CAS), and presents key ideas of a systems approach to MD. The article elaborates a framework that combines MD’s situational context, developmental guidelines derived from the CAS theory, and examples of relevant MD practices. The framework offers MD professionals a practical means to assess and strengthen MD’s role in business. Furthermore, directions for future research on systems-based MD are brought up.

TL;DR: The Immune System is a complex adaptive system containing many details and many exceptions to established rules as mentioned in this paper, and exceptions such as the suppression effect that causes T-cells to develop reversible aggressive and tolerant behaviors create difficulties for the study of immunology but also give hints to how artificial immune systems may be designed.
