TL;DR: In this article, a study of the use of the smile as a non-verbal sign in a few chosen communicative contexts across Russian, European and American cultures showed the difference in its meaning and distribution according to the cultural tradition.
Abstract: Abstract Although the smile is a universal facial expression, the use of smiles in communication varies across cultures. This may lead to misunderstandings and miscommunication. Both Americans and Europeans experience the same frustration and communication failure when they do not find smiling faces in Russia. At the same time, it is common for Russian people to perceive the smiles of Westerners as artificial and insincere. What is the reason for such a difference in perception? Why don’t Russians smile in some situations? The study of the use of the smile as a non-verbal sign in a few chosen communicative contexts across Russian, European and American cultures showed the difference in its meaning and distribution according to the cultural tradition. The reason could stem from the difference of Russia’s history when compared to that of Western Europe, as well as in the specific restrictions in Russian Orthodox Christianity and the traditions of laughter in Russia. All the meanings and specific cases of distribution are clearly retained and expressed in the languages. If we compare the Russian улыбка and улыбаться with the English smile, we can see both common and distinctive semantic elements and different connotations.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors illustrate Confucius's ideology of aesthetic order from five parts: the origin, meaning and connotation of "order" in Chinese characters, the connotation and causes for the formation of the thought of order in Chinese society, differences between Chinese and Western notions of order, as well as the influence of the idea of order on the present.
Abstract: Advocating order, order for all things, and taking order as beauty is the core element of Confucius’s aesthetic ideology. Confucius’s thought of aesthetic order is different from others of the “hundred schools of thoughts” in the pre-Qin period, and is also diverse from the Western value of aesthetic order. Confucius’s thought of aesthetic order has its own unique value system, which has become the mainstream value of aesthetic order in the Chinese society for 2000 years until today, after being integrated with the Chinese feudal imperial system in early Han Dynasty. This paper illustrates Confucius’s ideology of aesthetic order from five its parts: The origin, meaning and connotation of “order” in Chinese characters; the connotation of Confucius’s aesthetic thought of “order;” the causes for the formation of Confucius’s thought of aesthetic order; differences between Chinese and Western thoughts of aesthetic order; as well as the influence of Confucius’s thought of aesthetic order on the present.

Abstract: In order to investigate the current situation and future research directions of information literacy among college students in China. In this paper, 422 core journals on college students' information literacy published by China National Knowledge Infrastructure from 2000 to 2021 are selected for bibliometric analysis, and research hotspots on college students' information literacy during this period are discussed. According to the findings of the analysis, the current domestic research on college students' information literacy primarily consists of the development of an index system, connotation discussion, investigation and analysis of the current situation, and research on college students' information literacy education strategies and methods.
