TL;DR: Zhang et al. as mentioned in this paper discussed the scientific connotation of balanced regional development, and invokes sustainable development theory to argue that we should pay attention to the differences in resource endowments among regions, and solve the imbalance among the economy, humans, and nature to promote the spatial balance of regional development and green development for better coordination between economy and ecology.
Abstract: Large regional differences and uneven regional development are fundamental challenges for China. Balanced regional development is an important issue in research on development geography. This study reviews the course of balanced regional development in China and summarizes its characteristics in each period. The results show that inter-regional development in China has undergone successive periods of balanced and unbalanced development. Each period has enhanced social development and contributed to a more balanced regional development. This paper discusses the scientific connotation of balanced regional development, and invokes sustainable development theory to argue that we should pay attention to the differences in resource endowments among regions, and solves the imbalance among the economy, humans, and nature to promote the spatial balance of regional development and green development for better coordination between economy and ecology. The balanced promotion of the well-being of people in each region is the ultimate goal of balanced regional development. We then use concepts from development geography to examine China’s path of balanced regional development from the three perspectives of society, the economy, and ecology. Suggestions are also provided for the balanced development of China’s regions and the improvement of public well-being.

TL;DR: The use of special terminology for no other purpose than to impress is vicious, and can have, even for this purpose, only a temporary effect as discussed by the authors, and the need for a new technical term is a real one.
Abstract: Words, whether they are technical ones or not, are valuable only as symbols standing for ideas or concepts. The demand for a technical term in any science arises from the sharpening' of mental concepts by specialists to such a degree that these concepts can no longer be expressed by the rather blunt words of a lay vocabulary. Vague word definitions are a serious handicap to sharp thinking. But the English language already contains a great abundance ofeword symbols, and by speaking or writing with some attention to the finer shades of connotation, the most subtle concepts can be expressed. However, the specialist in regional description may develop ideas which are not provided for in the language; or he may require the special redefinition of certain words in -order to sharpen their meaning or connotation to his -particular needs. The use of special terminology for no other purpose than to impress is vicious, and can have, even for this purpose, only a temporary effect. On the other hand, if the specialist develops esoteric concepts for which the existing language is unable to provide an exact symbol, then the need for a new technical term is a real one. The final test by which to judge the value of a new term is not the word itself-not even its etymology; but rather it is the exactness and importance of the concept for which the word stands. In this discussion, therefore, we must deal primarily with concepts, and and only to a secondary degree with the symbols. Nor can we consider here the technical terminology of the special phases of regional description, such as landforms or settlement forms. This paper is limited to a discussion of some of the more recent concepts in regional geography and the symbols which express these concepts. The recent refocusing of geographic interest on the face of the earth as our traditional field of inquiry has given new prominence to the old word, landscape.' This word has been used in geographic literature for a long

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper established an evaluation index system for the high-quality development level of China's economy based on the new development concept of "innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing".
Abstract: From the perspective of economics, high-quality economic development is a concept that is not easy to grasp. How to quantify high-quality development is also a relatively complex topic. The combination of economic growth and development is high-quality economic development, reflecting the core connotation of the modern economic system. It is of great significance to measure the quality of economic development and study its influencing factors. Based on the new development concept of “innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing”, this paper establishes an evaluation index system for the high-quality development level of China’s economy. Then, the principal component analysis method was used to measure China’s high-quality economic development level and that of each province in China. Combined with high-quality development’s meaning and essential features, we can correctly judge the regional economy’s specific situation of high-quality development and analyze the results of high-quality economic development from the perspective of time series and spatial evolution. Based on this, we further explore the main factors that influence the level of high-quality economic development. Finally, some feasible suggestions are put forward to improve the quality of China’s economic development and promote the completion of economic transformation. The main contribution of this paper is that the use of principal component analysis can reduce the dimensional and order-of-magnitude differences between the indicators. In this way, we can better measure the high-quality development level of China’s economy, analyze its main influencing factors, and provide new possible paths for China’s economic transformation.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper studied consumers' attitudes and preferences on the Palace Museum's cultural and creative products and found that consumers attach great importance to factors such as "cultural connotation" and "unique creativity" when choosing the museum's products.
Abstract: In recent years, the development and design of the cultural and creative products of the Palace Museum in Beijing have become a hot topic in the product design field. Many critics have pointed out that cultural and creative products have failed to faithfully convey the implied meanings of the cultural stories of the Palace Museum. To effectively narrow the cognitive gap between designers and consumers, designers must urgently clarify the relationship between different design attributes and consumer preferences. The questionnaires were used to obtain data from 297 subjects. Through SPSS statistical software, the results were analyzed by descriptive statistics, explore factor analysis (EFA), independent sample t-test, and ANOVA to explore consumers’ attitudes and preferences on the Palace Museum’s cultural and creative products. The results showed that consumers attach great importance to factors such as “cultural connotation” and “unique creativity” when choosing the Palace Museum’s cultural and creative products. The consumer in different genders had significant differences in the design factors of the Palace Museum’s cultural and creative products. There were significant differences in the factors of “Forbidden City culture”, “cultural sustainability” and “traditional culture” to different educational backgrounds. There were significant differences in the factor of “Forbidden City culture” to different ages. There were significant differences in the factors of “cultural traits” and “cultural identity” between the with and without a design background groups. The results of this study will identify the key factors for the design of the Palace’s Museum cultural and creative products and provide references for designers.
