Abstract: This study aimed to describe the connotation of respect for community elders in daily situations, and discuss the elderly’s views on respect for healthcare services. A qualitative research design was conducted to interview elders from a non-urban area in Changhua, Taiwan. Study sites were Lukang and Ershui. A total of 52 people were interviewed, with an average age of 75 years old. Based on Grounded theory, the thematic analysis method was used to analyze data. This study found that respect from the perspective of the elderly can be divided into three categories: (1) verbal expression, (2) non-verbal behavior, and (3) behavior combined with appropriate language. We found that elders use the performance of healthcare service providers to discuss respect in the field of healthcare services. Respect can also be shown in the physical environment in healthcare settings. This study found that, for the community elders, respect is an individual’s subjective feelings regarding the process of interpersonal interaction. Compared to daily life, the respect of the elderly for the healthcare setting has increased the element of the environment. In addition, it was found that elderly people have lower expectations and requirements for respect in healthcare settings.

Abstract: Abstract. The Social Dilemma was released in 2020, this film tells how social media works, especially with the development of technology that is always evolving. This media created by humans was originally created to make it easier for humans to get or provide information and communicate over long distances, but now it has developed with frightening abilities and has an important role to built human civilization. This research uses qualitative methods and Roland Barthes semiotic analysis to reveal the denotative, connotative and mythical messages contained in the The Social Dilemma film. The data collection in this study was obtained from observation, documentation and literature study. The purpose of this study is to find out the dark side of social media contained in the film The Social Dilemma by using Roland Barthes' semiotics which reveals the denotative, connotative and mythical meanings in The Social Dilemma film. This study has results where the meaning of denotation in this film is where the experts give messages in an interview to better understand and know the limitations of using social media. The connotation meaning of The Social Dilemma is that social media has a dark side that social media users must pay attention to so that they are not affected by social media. The myth in this film is that social media is a tool for exchanging information quickly, but behind that all social media has a lot of bad effects for its users who are not realized by social media users. Abstrak. Film documenter The Social Dilemma dirilis pada tahun 2020, film ini mengisahkan bagaimana sebuah media sosial bekerja terutama dengan adanya perkembangan teknologi yang selalu berkembang. Media yang diciptakan oleh manusia ini pada awalnya diciptakan untuk mempermudah manusia untuk mendapatkan atau memberi informasi dan melakukan komunikasi jarak auh, namun kini berkembang dengan kemampuan yang menakutkan dan memiliki peran yang penting dalam membentuk peradaban manusia. Peneiltiain ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes untuk mengungkap maka denotatif, konotatif dan mitos yang terdapat pada pesan tentang sisi gelap media sosial dalam film The Social Dilemma. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini didapatkan dari observasi, dokumentasi dan studi pustaka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sisi gelap dalam media sosial yang terdapat pada film The Social Dilemma dengan menggunakan semiotika Roland Barthes yang mengungkap makna denotatif, konotatif dan mitos yang terdapat pada film The Social Dilemma. Penelitian ini memiliki hasil dimana makna denotasi pada film The Social Dilemma yaitu dimana para pakar memberikan pesan pada sebuah wawancara untuk lebih memahami dan mengetahui batasan penggunaan media sosial. Makna konotasi pada film The Social Dilemma yaitu dimana media sosial memiliki sisi gelap yang harus diperhatikan oleh para pengguna media sosial agar tidak terkena dampak dan terpengaruh oleh media sosial. Mitos pada film The Social Dilemma yaitu media sosial merupakan sebuah alat untuk pertukaran informasi dengan cepat, namun dibalik itu semua media sosial memiliki banyak dampak yang buruk bagi para penggunanya yang tidak disadari oleh pengguna media sosial.

Abstract: Abstract - This is a study that reveals how mystification is packaged using the narrative of mother-child communication in the Mother's Day version of the Aqua branded beverage product advertisement. The mother's day version of Aqua's advertising communicator takes advantage of the nature of a mother who always loves and protects, especially to her children and the momentum is released to coincide with the events of Mother's Day. This study uses a qualitative approach by using a critical paradigm. then analyze the sign of communication used in advertising by using Barthes semiotics. The unit of analysis is taken purposively and in the form of audio, visual and text. Barthes' idea about the relation between signifier, sign and then the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth led researchers to a finding that advertising communicators perform mystification very subtly. There is a personification of Aqua water as if it has love and protection like a mother The construction process carried out by Aqua advertising communicators is also a myth. Next, he packs the scene of the child's communication relationship with his parents as his denotative aspect and the scene of giving gifts as the connotation of the gimmick he uses.
