TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss and present approaches to developing new equipment for building surveying, devised with the needs of building surveys in mind, such as redesigns or new designs for surveying tools.
Abstract: Building activities in the construction industry in Germany increasingly concentrate on building measures in or involving the existing built environment. Before planning can begin, buildings must be surveyed in whole or in part with the surveying of geometric data playing a dominant role. The geometric survey is typically undertaken using geodetic or photogrammetric measuring techniques and equipment that have been adapted for use in building surveying. Accordingly appropriate technical knowledge is required in order to be able to operate them as well as a considerable financial investment. Such equipment and surveying methods are usually adaptations from other disciplines. The paper discusses and presents approaches to developing “new” equipment for building surveying, devised with the needs of building surveying in mind – redesigns or new designs for surveying tools. The designs are the result of an inter-disciplinary project between the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Product Design at the Bauhaus Universitat Weimar.

TL;DR: This article introduced the method and specification of the building final surveying, and a data pre-processing program for buildingfinal surveying was proposed, its design, work flow and function.
Abstract: This article introduced the method and specification of the building final surveying.According to the currently concretely method of the field work and the indoor work about the Beijing building final surveying,and aiming at the detect of traditional method for building final surveying,a data pre-processing program for building final surveying was proposed.Its design,work flow and function were introduced too.At last,the application and prospect of this program were put forward.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss issues related to the agreement and the contract, as well as how to choose between 2D and 3D historic building surveying, and safety is also discussed.
Abstract: Planning prior to any work related to the surveying and documentation of cultural heritage is necessary to designate the requirements and specifications of a project. A clear identification of requirements and specifications, a timeframe and within an agreed budget is essential. This chapter also discusses issues related to the agreement and the contract, as well as how to choose between 2D and 3D historic building surveying. A well-organized surveying and documentation project will help a team to focus on the project aims, map the implementation, and formulate data collection and analysis activities. In every work, a clear answer on how to preserve all the records is necessary. Safety is also discussed in this chapter, as teams are working both in indoor and outdoor conditions, sometimes using expensive and heavy equipment. Another important issue discussed in this chapter is matters related to standardization.

TL;DR: The construction survey specification G71 and its companion document Guide NG71 as mentioned in this paper was developed by the Roads and Traffic Authority of New South Wales (RTA) and its ongoing development to become a national standard.
Abstract: SUMMARY This paper deals with the development of Construction Survey Specification G71 and its companion document Guide NG71, by the Roads and Traffic Authority of New South Wales (RTA) and its ongoing development to become a national standard. The specification addressed serious concerns raised by senior RTA management about the impact of perceived poor survey practices affecting their infrastructure. The specification was able to address their concerns and also raise awareness about the importance of good survey practices and how survey contributes to the over all life cycle costs of projects. This specification made several break-throughs, including for the first time specifying the accuracy of surveying procedures when surveying different road/bridge components. The application highlights the intellectual challenge of rigorously defining the standards of accuracy that reflect the capability of construction processes and surveying procedures. For the RTA it is the first stand-alone construction survey specification and is written by surveyors. This allowed the specification to reflect their concerns about issues that affect survey in road/bridge construction projects. The specification is now loaded onto the Inter-governmental Committee of Surveying and Mapping (ICSM) website as a national standard for road construction surveys in Australia and New Zealand. This is recognition of the specification’s contribution to improving surveying standards. The paper also describes this process. Annual expenditure on Australian road infrastructure is approximately 6 billion dollars. This specification is seen as a tool to make significant contribution to reducing the cost and improving the efficiency and lifespan of the infrastructure.

TL;DR: In this article, a construction surveying setting-out method based on BIM+ artificial intelligence is presented, which belongs to the technical field of building construction, and includes the steps that 1, a three-dimensional BIM design model is established; 2, an accurate settingout point position is directly output based on the BIM model; 3, before construction, an artificial intelligence surveying robot is adopted to carry out setting out; 4, in the constriction, a 3D laser scanner is used to scan a structure, and actual constructing data is reversely obtained;
Abstract: The invention discloses a construction surveying setting-out method based on BIM+ artificial intelligence, and belongs to the technical field of building construction. The construction surveying setting-out method based on the BIM+ artificial intelligence comprises the steps that 1, a three-dimensional BIM design model is established; 2, an accurate setting-out point position is directly output based on the BIM model; 3, before construction, an artificial intelligence surveying robot is adopted to carry out setting-out; 4, in the constriction, a three dimensional laser scanner is adopted to scan a structure, and actual constructing data is reversely obtained; 5, the actual constructing data is compared with the BIM design model, and the model is subjected to dynamic calibration; and 6, a calibration model is adopted to output the setting-out point position, and the setting-out is carried out by the artificial intelligence surveying robot. According to the construction surveying setting-out method based on the BIM+ artificial intelligence, the artificial intelligence surveying robot is adopted to carry out the setting-out, the accurate surveying setting-out data can be obtained, theerrors are reduced to a greater extent, and good social benefits and economic benefits are obtained.
