Abstract: A method for ordering one or more consumables for a device includes selecting one or more of the consumables used in the device to order using the device and submitting the order for the selected consumables using the device to one or more suppliers. A device for ordering one or more consumables for the device includes an ordering system in the device and a communication system in the device. The ordering system providing a menu of one or more of the consumables to select to place an order. The communication system submits the order for the selected consumables when completed.

Abstract: A computer system for automatically ordering consumables for a printer or a similar machine where the inventory is monitored by comparing the amount of material delivered, for example, by scanning the incoming cartons, against the amount used, for example, by the machine automatically sending to the computer counts of the various units consumed. The computer is equipped with a set of rules for automatically reordering new supplies. In an alternative case, the rules would request a concession, in terms of price or some other parameter such as quantity, from one or more vendors before ordering.

Abstract: The system for a printer in its reservoir for consumables for office equipment includes essential command unit for a printer, an electric chip having a balance of consumables and memory and a device to control the reservoir of consumables. The device includes a chip/central unit interfaced in a computer intended to determine the content of the reservoir of consumables, by calculating the flow, in cooperation with the central unit, by estimating the quantity of consumables used according to the estimated quantity of printed copies, and the balance of consumables left. This system has applications to photocopiers as well.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors attempted friction surfacing with a stainless steel, aluminium and brass consumables on a mild-steel substrate in the open air and in flowing nitrogen and found that brass and aluminium consumables failed to form a heated layer in contact with the mild steel, high thermal conductivity of either metal being the probable cause of failure.
