Abstract: Through the method of metaphysics typical of philosophy, the objective of the study is to conceptualize the political dimension of the interaction of digital man and society in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The modeling method helps to create a model of interaction between the digital person and the digital society as a way of managing objectives to adapt people to increasing conditions of complexity and uncertainty, to provide a comprehensive analysis. As society becomes more complex, the model must become a flexible digital society. It is concluded that the analysis of variables and the determination of the optimal set of components of the digitalization of society play an important role: political, economic, administrative, social, and spiritual. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the optimal model that will achieve a balance between human nature, man, and society. As a result of the analysis carried out, modern theoretical approaches to the interaction of the digital person and a digital society in the context of the philosophy of politics are also investigated.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors consider three important issues from the point of view of synergetic theory: global digitalization of society, digitalisation of public administration and sociology of digital society.
Abstract: The purpose of the article is to consider three important issues from the point of view of synergetic theory: global digitalization of society, digitalization of public administration and sociology of digital society. We consider that the new trend of informatization, which replaced computerization, internetization and networkization, should be recognized as digitalization as the creation of digital network platforms that have analytical and predictive functions. In the process of studying the global digital society, two main questions will be asked: How is it different from the previous stage of information society? What problems of its development await us in the future? The authors reveal the last question with a scenario approach, denoting both a positive and an ambiguous perspective for the development of a digital society. The authors point to the need for the purposeful formation of social institutions in a digital society due to the complexity of the ongoing self-organizing processes. Consideration of the sociology of digital society begins with methodological problems associated with the study of a complex hybrid system due to the unification of real and virtual social spaces, the emergence of techno-subjects and some experience in the use of digital tools in sociology, allowing to work with interactive dynamic data.

TL;DR: In this article, scenarios and challenges of the university in the knowledge economy are analyzed, considering their insertion in the broader field of higher education formed by the plurality of actors and institutions interested in its dynamics.
Abstract: In this article, scenarios and challenges of the university in the knowledge economy are analyzed, considering their insertion in the broader field of higher education formed by the plurality of actors and institutions interested in its dynamics. The notion of field formulated by Pierre Bourdieu is an important theoretical and methodological construct for the analysis of higher education in contemporary society. Historically, the university has revealed itself as a gateway and a privileged space to build paths and solutions to challenges presented, over time, to society. In the globalized world, the university operates in a field of uncertainties and contradictions, at the same time as it constitutes an indisputable component for the development of the countries' political project. In the competitive contemporary higher education the concept of world-class universitie has been disputed and built based on global standards and criteria directly associated with the classifications made by international rankings.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors present an alternative framework to understand the challenge posed by modern Haredim to the classic Haredi society of learners not in terms of increasing liberalism but rather of increasing radicalism.
Abstract: Abstract:Modern Haredim (ultra-Orthodox Israelis who have joined the army, workforce, and academia) are often perceived as a sign that contemporary Haredi society is becoming more liberal and Western. This article presents an alternative framework, which understands the challenge posed by modern Haredim to the classic Haredi society of learners not in terms of increasing liberalism but rather of increasing radicalism. What is peculiar to modern Haredim is not a greater openness toward secular society, but rather a profound change in the theory and practice of religious activity. Modern Haredim perceive the entire world as a potential arena for religious activity and reject the confinement of religious life to the boundaries of the house of study. Studying various radical activities of modern Haredim—which resonate with much earlier trends within Jewish Orthodoxy—this article argues that the religious attitudes developing in contemporary Haredi society are inner-worldly in orientation.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors describe the thoughts of the philosopher Herbert Marcuse about the phenomenon of consumerism in contemporary society and find that there is a paradigm shift in the realm of consumption in the era of contemporary society.
Abstract: This paper aims to describe the thoughts of the philosopher Herbert Marcuse about the phenomenon of consumerism in contemporary society. The method used is literature research with a philosophical approach. This study finds that there is a paradigm shift in the realm of consumption in the era of contemporary society. According to Marcuse, consumerism in today's society contains a totalitarian logic. The totalitarian tendencies of technology have shaped one-dimensional patterns of thought and behavior. The indication is that society cannot escape the influence and domination of technology. Technology has produced goods in abundance. As a result, the goods produced by the means of production are manipulated and indoctrinated to the needs of individuals in an advanced industrial society.

TL;DR: The role and mission of journalism place it anywhere between watchdog and lapdog which makes the process of studying journalism uncertain and even contradictory as it is caught between the binds of historical values and the traps of contemporary practice as discussed by the authors .
Abstract: This discussion article envisages five different contemporary challenges and pays special attention to the arguments as to why contemporary journalism losses its professional priorities and gets mixed in with other types of mass communication, particularly with public relations (PR) and propaganda. This clarification is of great importance not only for purely professional purposes, but also for broad social priorities. Arguments concerning the role and mission of journalism place it anywhere between watchdog and lapdog which makes the process of studying journalism uncertain and even contradictory as it is caught between the binds of historical values and the traps of contemporary practice.

TL;DR: The Sangam age society is an ethnic society based on the divisions of five thinai lands and a society that accommodates pluralistic ideas as discussed by the authors , which is seen in the Tamil context as a thought to bring out the state of society after the nineties.
Abstract: The Sangam age society is an ethnic society based on the divisions of five thinai lands and a society that accommodates pluralistic ideas. In this context, postmodernism, which originated in western art and literature, is seen in the Tamil context as a thought to bring out the state of society after the nineties. On this basis, the definitions of the society of the Sangam age and the definitions of postmodern society are taken up. The comparison of these two societies also provides a comparatively critical explanation. Love has been transformed from being the basis of marriage to today's casteist background. The man-leader and his friend's guidance have been the cure for the malady of the Marutham woman. But the lovesickness of a woman who is in love today is cured by her old age. In this article, the situation where women are fighting for their livelihood in adulthood like Ovvai, admired by Athiyaman, and the situation where education has been liberalized, privatized, and commercialized by globalization in a society where the importance of education has been emphasized, has been explained in a way that compares the society during the Sangam period and the post-modern society.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors study the values of modern society in general, and Russian society in particular, and show that human values are not taken into account in a culture of individualization, and the value of equality into a normative value, into identification.
Abstract: The article is devoted to the research of the values of modern society in general, and Russian society in particular. It is shown that the culture of modern society is deprived of a system-forming center. In a culture of this type, human values are not taken into account. The value of freedom degenerates into individualization, and the value of equality into a normative value, into identification. In the situation of spreading the same values to different cultures, the problem of preserving the uniqueness of Russian society and culture arises. It is noted that the Russian society itself should be a value. For that, it is necessary that the values emanating from the state be in harmony with the values of society. Using the example of external signs of value features in such spheres of modern society as the state, economy, education, science, it is shown that the specificity of modern society, consisting in its "fluidity" and orientation to practice, does not allow members of our society to accept the high ideals declared by the state.

Abstract: Abstract The focus of this chapter is how an established civil society organization relates to changing conditions and opportunities in contemporary Sweden. Taking the ongoing reorientation of Save the Children Sweden as a case study, this chapter illuminates the strategic approach to, and practical implementation of, that reorientation in relation to contemporary negotiations of the role of civil society in Sweden. The results show that Save the Children Sweden’s development is taking place in the context of Sweden’s contemporary civil society landscape with its newly available resources, increasingly blurred borders, and contradictory ideals. The reorientation of Save the Children Sweden is here conceptualized in terms of avant-garde professionalism, with an increase in operational activities serving to pressure the state and other organizations to acknowledge their responsibilities.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors explore a dissonance issuing from a feature of the network society, namely what Castells calls the "transformation of space and time in the human experience".
Abstract: In ‘The Rise of the Network Society’ (2010), Manuel Castells elaborates on what today is commonknowledge, namely the notion of a society that is characterised both by networks of electronicallymediated communication and by networks undergirding economic exchanges worldwide. Inthis article, I explore a dissonance issuing from a feature of the network society, namely whatCastells calls the ‘transformation of space and time in the human experience’. In this context,he distinguishes between ‘the space of places’ and ‘the space of flows’, with the former referringto the historically familiar sense of space as a material precondition of social interaction andof architectural modulation into ‘place’, and the latter to a novel form of spatiality, one that isrelated to social interaction that has been fundamentally modified by advanced communicationtechnologies and is characterised by simultaneity, regardless of physical distance. This, in turn,is related to what Castells labels ‘timeless time’, which is noticeable where customary timesequences are blurred in certain contemporary practices, such as virtually instantaneous financialtransactions, ‘instant wars’ and virtual communication. This contrasts with both ordinary, ‘human’time and also with evolutionary ‘glacial time’ – a notion operative in the ecological movementand one that increasingly clashes with the demands of ‘timeless time’ in the network society. Thearticle reconstructs Castells’s comprehensive vision and points to the relevance of the conflictbetween these respective notions of space and time for contemporary communication practices. It also engages critically with the social implications of the dominant modes of space and time.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigate how contemporary music composition aesthetics and performance practices in orchestral music came to be defined and institutionalized in New York City through the 1960s and 1970s.
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to investigate how contemporary music composition aesthetics and performance practices in orchestral music came to be defined and institutionalized in New York City through the 1960s and 1970s. The geographic distinctions commonly referred to as Uptown and Downtown identify separate networks of American contemporary music that sprouted in New York City already in the 1950s, and developed across the United States in the second half of the twentieth century. I propose that the division of contemporary music practices and the ultimate institutionalization of Uptown is inextricably linked to changing orchestral practices in New York City in the late 1960s and 1970s. Using the digital program archives from the New York Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall, I analysed contemporary programming in orchestral and large ensemble concerts from 1960 to 1975. Using this data, one observes that contemporary music programming decreased in this period, that the performance of contemporary music became less stylistically diverse, and that “contemporary music”, as a genre, came to be increasingly defined as European and modernist. I therefore conclude that changing orchestral practice was a major contributing factor in the division and institutionalization of contemporary musical practices in New York City.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors argue that a large part of the relevance of Mills' work for contemporary sociological problems and challenges is found in the way his emphasis on situation (or 'place'), as given through the idea of "social milieu", allows a more complex and encompassing approach.
Abstract: In Mills’ sociological analysis, a central notion is the ‘social milieu’ which encapsulates ‘the social setting of a person that is directly open to his personal experience’. For Mills, sociology should entail an investigation of the set of relations and practices that are a feature of human experience. Understanding the significance of Mills’ approach, we argue, requires grasping the way the notion of ‘milieu’ or ‘setting’ itself draws upon spatial and topological notions – notions that have become prominent in much contemporary sociological thinking. From this perspective, Mills’ work turns out to be relevant as a corrective, both to the undue emphasis on empirical particularity that is evident in some contemporary sociology and to what Mills viewed as ‘abstract’ theorisation. A large part of the relevance of Mills’ work for contemporary sociological problems and challenges is thus to be found in the way his emphasis on situation (or ‘place’), as given through the idea of ‘milieu’, allows a more complex and encompassing approach.

TL;DR: In this paper , the attitude of Russian society to the preservation of traditional values in the digital age was identified, and the problems of the digitalization process in Russian society in the context of spiritual and moral values were revealed.
Abstract: The process of digitalization is closely related to global changes in society. Due to the ongoing social changes associated with the development of the information society, there is a crisis in the system of values and value orientations. The study of the state of traditional values and spiritual and moral guidelines in Russian society in the era of information digitalization becomes relevant. This work aims to identify the attitude of Russian society to the preservation of traditional values in the digital age. The novelty lies in identifying the readiness of Russian society to preserve and strengthen spiritual and moral values in the process of adapting to the new reality of the digital age. Methodology and research methods. With the help of content analysis and discourse analysis, the categories of formation of cultural attitudes in Russian society were determined, a list of traditional values was identifi ed, and differences were found in the value orientations of Russian, European, and American cultures. With the help of historical, statistical and comparative analysis of documentary sources, the problems of the digitalization process in Russian society in the context of spiritual and moral values are revealed. An analysis of surveys conducted over the past three years by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center on attitudes towards traditional values in human life and the role of the state in preserving spiritual and moral values in society revealed the desire of society to preserve and strengthen “traditional values”. When considering communicative state strategies in the fi eld of strengthening and preserving spiritual and moral values, the problems of low effi - ciency of these strategies were identifi ed. We also revealed the infl uence of European and American propaganda on the system of Russian values. The results of this work show that state communication strategies for the preservation of traditional and spiritual and moral values need to be fi nalized and improved in practice. Also, the results obtained can be in demand by researchers in the fi eld of social journalism and media literacy.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors formulated an approach to the childfree phenomenon from the point of view of Islamic law, particularly the objectives of Islam and the reality of society through literature review and literature study, and found that the main dimensions of the Islamic law approach model based on maqashid shari'ah and the real of society are based on the benefit to be addressed.
Abstract: One of the fundamental problems of a cultural shift in the contemporary era today is the existence of a phenomenon that is contrary to the norm. One of them is the childfree phenomenon with the main goal being the voluntary choice not to have children in a family. Seeing this phenomenon, it seems that it has brought about a shift that must be answered from the perspective of religion, Islamic law, and the reality of society. This is because so far the position of children in religion, law, and the reality of society is a group that must be protected. With the above problems, this study aimed to formulate an approach to the childfree phenomenon from the point of view of Islamic law, particularly the objectives of Islamic law (maqāshid sharī'ah) and the reality of society. Through literature review and literature study, this study finds that the main dimensions of the Islamic law approach model based on maqashid shari'ah and the reality of society are based on the benefit to be addressed and are in line and tandem with the reality of society. The phenomenon of being childfree is contrary to the mission and objectives of maqāshid sharī'ah and the reality of society. The conclusion of this study has strengthened the discourse of an Islamic Law study on the childfree phenomenon as one of the contemporary phenomena that should be responded to by using the perspective of benefits to people.

TL;DR: In this paper, the meaning of the first article of the content of the Christian faith in recent theological production, through a hermeneutical exercise, analyzing it bibliometrically and categorically and using the Nvivo software for the analysis of qualitative data as mediation.
Abstract: At present, there are different understandings of the first article of the content of the Christian faith, which makes an analysis of these interpretations from theological categories necessary. This research seeks to reveal the meaning of the first article of the content of the Christian faith in recent theological production, through a hermeneutical exercise, analyzing it bibliometrically and categorically and using the Nvivo software for the analysis of qualitative data as mediation. It is concluded that recent theological literature addresses the meaning of the first article of the Christian faith from the existence, concept, definition of God and his attributes such as his power, performance, creation, revelation and reign. Although the material found is scarce compared to other topics or areas of knowledge that can be explored in these tools, the fact is explained because, normally, it has not been a concern for theologians to publish in high impact journals. The approach to God in contemporary literature can be enriched by taking into account specific contexts such as poverty, discrimination, suffering, violence, human trafficking, migrants and political realities, among others, so that it is not only a metaphysical reflection of God, but also historical and immanent, and even with interreligious research that broadens the conception of the Christian God and responds to questions that contemporary society asks in their daily lives.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors of the playwrights beam their critical lens on the contemporary realities in Nigeria through their adaptations of oral traditions in their works and expose some of the prevailing issues in contemporary Nigeria.
Abstract: It has often been said that a writer’s assumption, criticisms, and everything he or she writes about are a result of the society he or she has found himself or herself. Literature is a product of the society. No writer writes without reflecting the prevailing issues or problems bedeviling the society he or she comes from. This paper takes a look at the contemporary issues in the Nigerian (even African) polity that have received the attention of Femi Osofisan in Who is Afraid of Solarin? and Women of Owu; Sam Ukala in Odour of Justice and Tess Onwueme in The Missing Face and Tell it to Women. The major aim of this paper is to expose some of the prevailing issues in contemporary Nigeria. These issues have continued to cause major setbacks in the Nigerian polity. The paper has helped in opening the eyes of the readers and drawing their ears on the corruption and other vices perpetuated by the leaders, women and tricksters in our midst. The selected playwrights beam their critical lens on the contemporary realities in Nigeria through their adaptations of oral traditions in their works. It is concluded that the playwrights are very much at alert with their social realities and they expose these socio-political and cultural issues in Nigeria, especially, for positive change.
