TL;DR: The reaction of Cu(BF4)2 with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (H2pydc) and trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (bpe) under hydrothermal conditions afforded a porous mixed-valence CuICuII coordination polymer as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The reaction of Cu(BF4)2 with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (H2pydc) and trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (bpe) under hydrothermal conditions afforded a porous mixed-valence CuICuII coordination polymer. Coexistence of tetrameric and decameric water clusters within the channels of the complex leads to a novel water chain. The metal−organic framework provides both hydrophilic and hydrophobic environments for stabilizing the clusters and retains its integrity upon dehydration and rehydration.

TL;DR: In this paper, a single thiocyanato bridged 1D polymeric zinc complex with dinuclear asymmetric unit was synthesized using two different Schiff bases N,N/-bis(3-methoxysalicylidenimino)-1,3-diaminopropane (L1H2) and N, N/-bis (3-ethoxyaliclyideniminos)-1.3-diagrams (L2H2), respectively.

TL;DR: This study demonstrates that these different optical behaviors can be attributed to the presence of a PET (photoinduced electron transfer) mechanism that is only present in the amino-isophthalate-containing coordination polymers.
Abstract: The luminescent properties of two families of heteronuclear lanthanide-containing coordination polymers are compared. These families have general chemical formulas [Ln2–2xLn′2x(ip)3(H2O)9·6H2O]∞ and [Ln2–2xLn′2x(aip)2(H2O)10·(aip)·4H2O]∞ where H2ip and H2aip stand for isophthalic acid and 5-amino-isophthalic acid, respectively, and where Ln and Ln′ are one of the lanthanide ions between Sm3+ and Dy3+. Heteronuclear compounds that belong to each family are isostructural to the already reported homonuclear compounds [Gd2(ip)3(H2O)9·6H2O]∞ and [Eu2(aip)2(H2O)10·(aip)·4H2O]∞, respectively. These two crystal structures are very similar. However, despite similar chemical formulas, similar crystal structures, and similar hydration rates, these two families of compounds present very different luminescent properties that have thus been deeply investigated. This study demonstrates that these different optical behaviors can be attributed to the presence of a PET (photoinduced electron transfer) mechanism that is onl...

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction of AgClO4 with a bulky semi-flexible tripodal ligand 2,4,6-tris(4-((pyridin-4-ylthio)methyl)phenyl)-1,3,5-triazine (tppt) affords highly undulating (6,3) honeycomb networks which display unusual net entanglement.
Abstract: Reaction of AgClO4 with a bulky semi-flexible tripodal ligand 2,4,6-tris(4-((pyridin-4-ylthio)methyl)phenyl)-1,3,5-triazine (tppt) affords highly undulating (6,3) honeycomb networks [Ag3(tppt)2](ClO4)3·8DMSO which display unusual net entanglement. Three (6,3) nets interweave in parallel to give rise to a 3-fold interpenetrating basic layer (2D → 2D parallel). In addition, every such layer interlocks four other layers, two above and two below (2D → 3D parallel). Therefore, totally fifteen (6,3) nets are involved in entanglement with respect to each basic layer, in which each single (6,3) net shows 11-fold interpenetration and 5-fold catenation, thus resulting in a novel 3D coordination polymer containing both interpenetration and polycatenation.

TL;DR: The new ligand, 1,2,4,5-C6H2[CH2OCH2C(pz)3]4 (pz = pyrazolyl ring), that links four tris(pyrazolyL)methane groups in one molecule has been prepared and been shown to react with AgBF4 to yield the coordination polymer.
Abstract: The new ligand, 1,2,4,5-C6H2[CH2OCH2C(pz)3]4 (pz = pyrazolyl ring), that links four tris(pyrazolyl)methane groups in one molecule has been prepared and been shown to react with AgBF4 to yield the coordination polymer {1,2,4,5-C6H2[CH2OCH2C(pz)3]4Ag2(BF4)2}n. The supramolecular structure of this compound is composed of infinite chains of 32-atom metallomacrocycles each containing two silver atoms and four κ2-bonded tris(pyrazolyl)methane units (see figure), arranged in an ordered architecture by C−H···F weak hydrogen bonds and π−π stacking interactions.
