TL;DR: The potential of 1a for nitro explosive sensing is studied through luminescence quenching experiments, which show that 1a is a potential luminescent sensory material for nitroglycerine explosives.
Abstract: A microporous metal–organic framework (MOF) Eu3(MFDA)4(NO3)(DMF)3 (1, H2MFDA = 9,9-dimethylfluorene-2,7-dicarboxylic acid) has been solvothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. 1 is a three-dimensional coordination polymer with pcu type rod-packing structure, through which 1D rhombic channels penetrate. The solvent-free form 1a could be obtained by direct heating of 1. Both 1 and 1a exhibit high intensity red light emissions with high quantum yields and long luminescence lifetimes when excited at 336 nm at ambient temperature. The potential of 1a for nitro explosive sensing is studied through luminescence quenching experiments, which show that 1a is a potential luminescent sensory material for nitro explosives.

TL;DR: A highly crystalline copper(II) benzenehexathiolate coordination polymer (Cu-BHT) has been prepared and superconductivity has been observed for the first time in a coordination polymer.
Abstract: A highly crystalline copper(II) benzenehexathiolate coordination polymer (Cu-BHT) has been prepared. The two-dimensional kagome structure has been confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and high-resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy. The as-prepared sample exhibits bulk superconductivity at about 0.25 K, which is confirmed by the zero resistivity, AC magnetic susceptibility, and specific heat measurements. Another diamagnetic transition at about 3 K suggests that there is a second superconducting phase that may be associated with a single layer or few layers of Cu-BHT. It is the first time that superconductivity has been observed in a coordination polymer.

TL;DR: In this article, the first example of catalytic metallogels is reported, which are formed irreversibly in dimethylsulfoxide via the creation of cross-linked, three-dimensional coordination polymer networks by using transition-metal ions with multiple sites available for coordination and multidentate ligands.
Abstract: Here we report the first example of catalytic metallogels, which are formed irreversibly in dimethylsulfoxide via the creation of cross-linked, three-dimensional coordination polymer networks by using transition-metal ions with multiple sites available for coordination and multidentate ligands. Conformational flexibility of the ligands and slow formation of the coordination polymers apparently favor the gelation. These metallogels are stable in water and most organic solvents and can catalyze the oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde by using their PdII moieties as the catalytic centers. The best catalytic turnover of the metallogel is twice that of [Pd(OAc)2] under similar reaction conditions.

TL;DR: The solid-state structure and nature of 1 provide an indication of the type of materials that may be formed as intermediates in the Sharpless-Demko reaction for the generation of 5-substituted 1H-tetrazoles.
Abstract: The reaction of 4-cyanopyridine with NaN(3) in the presence of H(2)O and a Lewis acid (CdCl(2)) affords a novel 3D pillared-layered fluorescent and phosphorescent coordination polymer Cd(3)(OH)(2)Cl(2)(4-PTZ)(2) (4-PTZ = 5-(4-pyridyl)tetrazolate) (1) while the direct reaction of CdCl(2) with H-PTZ gives the simpler species Cd(4-PTZ)(2)(H(2)O)(2). The solid-state structure and nature of 1 provide an indication of the type of materials that may be formed as intermediates in the Sharpless-Demko reaction for the generation of 5-substituted 1H-tetrazoles.
