Abstract: The influences of core self-evaluation,organizational support, and their interaction on subjective/objective career success are examined in this study by using a sample of 212 employees from 3 organizations. The results indicate that subjective(job, career and life satisfaction) and objective career success(income level, the number and speed of promotions) are two related but separate types within career success system. Both are positively correlated with core self-evaluation and organizational support, but the objective career success is more strongly related to socio-demographic and human capital variables.Consistent with trait activation theory, organizational support strengthens the positive effect of core self-evaluation on career success in such a way that career success would be highest for employees higher in both core self-evaluation and perceived organizational support.
