TL;DR: The heat exchanger as discussed by the authors is a tubular body composed of at least two concentrically arranged individual tubes, which are held at a distance from one another and through which the media serving for heat exchange flow in a countercurrent.
Abstract: The heat exchanger serves in particular to recover heat from two flowing gaseous media. It consists of a tubular body composed of at least two concentrically arranged individual tubes, which are held at a distance from one another and through which the media serving for heat exchange flow in a countercurrent. The distances of the individual tubes are fixed by tubular spacers which reach through the individual tubes in a sealing manner. The annular spaces formed by the individual tubes are flowed through alternately by one and the other medium in countercurrent, the second medium being fed and discharged via annular housings arranged at the ends.

TL;DR: To achieve with a reversible reaction a particular enantiomeric excess and yield, a countercurrent system needs less dilution or activated co-reactant and less enantioselective enzyme than a cocurrent system.

TL;DR: In this paper, a bubble fractionation process comprising countercurrent contacting of the feed solution with a stream of gas bubbles and a surfactant in an elongated vertical column is described.
Abstract: Cations, such as copper, are recovered from very dilute aqueous solutions by means of a bubble fractionation process comprising countercurrent contacting of the feed solution with a stream of gas bubbles and a surfactant in an elongated vertical column.
