TL;DR: In this paper, a column is constituted by axially juxtaposed annular segments which define respective chambers separated by liquid-permeable partitions, and two axially terminal chambers contain electrodes.
Abstract: In apparatus for separating ions in a solution by countercurrent electrolysis, a generally cylindrical column is constituted by axially juxtaposed annular segments which define respective chambers separated by liquid-permeable partitions. The two axially terminal chambers contain electrodes. Radial bores in the segments permit introduction and discharge of the solution to be tested, of an electrolyte flowing countercurrent to the solution, and of a cooling liquid passing through a cooling coil in each chamber. A shaft axially extending through the column carries agitating blades in each chamber and is magnetically rotated.

TL;DR: In this article, the collector in cross-section, as well as the paths of the sucked-through air (broken lines) and the sun rays are shown. But the authors focus on the absorption in the covering layers and the heat transport by convection, instead of to a loss in output.
Abstract: Technical problem and objective. Utilisation of solar energy for obtaining useful heat at a high temperature level using simple and inexpensive components. Solution to the technical problem. The novel feature consists in that the absorption in the covering layers and the heat transport by convection in the case of this design contribute to the effective output, instead of to a loss in output. The drawing shows the collector in cross-section, as well as the paths of the sucked-through air (broken lines) and the sun rays. 1. Collector wall, thermally insulated, airtight 2. Air extraction 3. Hollow space 4. Air-permeable layer with high flow resistance 5. Air-permeable glass fill 6. Wire grid 7. Path of the air (broken lines) 8. Path of the sun rays 9. Mirror Convection losses are avoided by the countercurrent flow of the air. Energy losses due to heat conduction are avoided by the separation into a plurality of planes. Radiation losses are kept low by the large number of coverings. Energy losses due to absorption in the coverings are largely offset by the countercurrent flow of the air. Counter-radiation with inexpensive low-temperature heat improves the yield of high-temperature heat. Area of application. Use of highly heated air for a large number of technical processes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a simple model of an idealized membrane, whose pores interact only hydrodynamically with bulk flow, while countercurrent diffusion of solvent and solute occurs in each channel along the respective gradients of chemical potential.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a utility model for an air-liquid countercurrent water distribution and air distribution pressurization contact oxidation tower, which can be used for the waste water treatment of chemical fibers, chemical engineering, pharmacy, printing and food industry.
Abstract: The utility model relates to an air-liquid countercurrent pressurization contact oxidation tower, belonging to the technical field of waste water treatment. The utility model provides a specific structure of an air-liquid countercurrent water distribution and air distribution pressurization contact oxidation tower, comprising a water distribution device with perforated pipes, an air-water re-distributor, an air chamber, etc. Air-water distribution in a tower can be efficiently controlled, filling materials on an air-liquid inlet are not easy to be damaged, the contact of the air and the liquid in the tower is good, the physiochemical efficiency is high, the control of liquid face is stable, and no air bubble is carried by water yielding. The utility model can be used for the waste water treatment of chemical fibers, chemical engineering, pharmacy, printing and food industry.
