TL;DR: In this article, a new mathematical model to describe axial and lateral mixing in fluidized beds is presented, which is an extension of previous versions of the countercurrent backmixing model (CCBM) that were restricted to axial mixing only.

TL;DR: In this article, a process for cleaning water includes mixing the flocculant with the water to be treated in water inlet pump, and reaction between air bubbles and floc in countercurrent copolymerizing reactor, flowing the water downward and the air upward, discharging the resultant water from bottom of reactor and discharging dregs from top of reactor.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of experimental analysis of the flowfield inslightlyheated countercurrent round jets, which revealed that the fluid aspiration at the jet periphery significantly influences large-scale stn naturally existing inthe flow and being responsible to agreatextentforthe mixingandentrainmentinthe free flow.

TL;DR: In this paper, experimental data on the fluid dynamics, temperature fields, and mass transfer in industrial spray dryers for synthetic detergents is reported, and the results are used to optimize the operation of an industrial dryer with a dry-product rate of 15 t/h.
Abstract: Experimental data on the fluid dynamics, temperature fields, and mass transfer in industrial spray dryers for synthetic detergents are reported. The distribution of the components of the flow velocity in the radial cross-section of a turbulent swirl flow in the active drying zone is obtained on the basis of balance equations and experimental data. The radial hydrodynamic stability interval of 0.2 < r/R < 0.9 is calculated using the Howard hydrodynamic stability criterion. The results are used to optimize the operation of an industrial dryer with a dry-product rate of 15 t/h.
