TL;DR: In this paper, a flexible composite material is provided upon which a facsimile message containing both confidential and non-confidential information can be recorded, and a method of delivering a hard copy of a confidential message is provided.
Abstract: Flexible composite material is provided upon which a facsimile message containing both confidential and nonconfidential information can be recorded. In general, the composite material comprises a recording layer and a cover layer. The recording layer has a predetermined width and a longitudinal extent which varies in length consistent with the length of the recorded message. The cover layer is disposed over the recording layer to define a confidential message recording area and at least one non-confidential message recording area. Both message recording areas extend along the longitudinal extent of the recording layer. The cover layer permits recording upon the non-confidential area and confidential area, while concealing the confidential message prior to the cover's removal. Preferably, a releasable adhesive layer is disposed over the confidential message area, so as to releasably secure the cover layer to the recording layer without adversely affecting the integrity or functioning of the confidential recording area. In practice, the adhesive layer is formed as spaced-apart strips and includes perforation lines formed in the cover layer. These perforation lines provide a visual indication that the cover layer had been removed or tampered with. According to another aspect of the present invention there is provided a method of delivering a hard copy of a confidential message. The method involves utilization of a facsimile data communication system including at least one transmitter and at least one receiver operably associated with a recording means capable of utilizing the flexible composite of the present invention.

TL;DR: An algorithmic method is described, based on unique input/output sequences and Rural Postman tours, for generating conformance-test sequences that require minimum cost and completely cover the state transitions defined by the protocol specification.
Abstract: With the recent expansion of data communications networks, computers and terminals from different manufacturers must be interconnected. Before being connected to the network, these interacting elements should be tested to ensure that they conform to the network's protocol specifications. We describe an algorithmic method (which is based on unique input/output sequences and Rural Postman tours) for generating conformance-test sequences that require minimum cost (i.e., run time) and completely cover the state transitions defined by the protocol specification. The technique, which has been implemented as the POSTMAN software package, has been widely used in ATT for error recovery; and for window-flow-control procedures (see Sherif and Uyar1).

TL;DR: In this article, a two-way communication sheet in the form of double post card, double letter sheet, or the like for use in communicating under cover written information and the like which should be protected from disclosure.
Abstract: The invention relates to a two-way communication sheet in the form of double post card, double letter sheet, or the like for use in communicating under cover written information and the like which should be protected from disclosure. The two-way communication sheet is so arranged that a sheet portion on which information is written is bonded to other sheet portion or portions when the communication sheet is initially forwarded as well as when it is sent in reply, so that the information is prevented from being exposed outside. The communication sheet is quite novel in that it enables information to be communicated in secret condition.

TL;DR: In this article, a transmission cover is extended forward and overlapped on engine cases to facilitate machining, improve productivity, and reduce the cost by extending forward and overlapping transmission cover.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate machining, improve productivity, and reduce the cost by extending forward and overlapping a transmission cover on engine cases and overlapping a clutch cover on the transmission cover. CONSTITUTION:A transmission cover 14 forming a transmission room 15 for storing a transmission mechanism 21 is extended forward and overlapped on engine cases 12 and 13. A clutch cover 17 is overlapped on the transmission cover 14 to form a belt room 16 inside. The engine cases 12 and 13 and the clutch cover 17 are connected by the transmission cover 14 to shield them from the outside. Connection faces of the clutch cover 17 and the transmission cover 14 and the engine case 13 together are made a flat face. Machining is facilitated, productivity is improved, and the cost is reduced.

TL;DR: In this article, the terrain can be divided into sections with centrally-controlled sequential access for safety purposes, and if desired, the launcher can give an audible warning and orienting signal just before launching with randomised delay thereafter.
Abstract: An installation of equipment in a defined terrain, typically including a route (5) and natural cover such as scrub (6), woods (7), hedgerows (8), or buildings (11), includes target-generating means such as clay pigeon launchers at concealed sites (21). Typically the user carries a coded transmitter, and a sensor-receiver on a nearby launcher as the user progresses round the park picks up the signal and launches a target in a manner programmed e.g. by a computer at control centre (23), in accordance with the handicap skill or other requirements of that particular coded user. The terrain can be divided into sections with centrally-controlled sequential access for safety purposes. If desired, the launcher can give an audible warning and orienting signal just before launching with randomised delay thereafter. Many other modes of use are possible.

TL;DR: In this paper, a casing with a fastening means for engagement with a cover and a releasing means for escape from the cover, and a means for inhibiting the operation of the releasing means simultaneously with driving of the printing mechanism is presented.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the danger of part of the human body making contact with a movable part of a printing mechanism or with a high-voltage part and preclude accidents such as breakage due to the contact of a tool with a moving part of the printing mechanism, by providing a casing with a fastening means for engagement with a cover and a releasing means for escape from the cover, and providing a means for inhibiting the operation of the releasing means simultaneously with driving of the printing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When a cover 3 is judged as closed on the basis of a detection signal from a cover sensor 5, a solenoid 6 is driven to engage a plunger 7 into a hole 9 in the cove 3. In response to an operation start signal supplied through an input port A 26 upon an operation of a serial interface 17, a parallel interface 18 or an operating key 25, a CPU 14 drives a printing head 11, a carrier motor 12 and a platen motor 13 to perform printing. When the cover 3 is disengaged from an opening part 2, the cover sensor 5 detects the opened condition of the opening part 2 of the casing 1, thereby outputting a detection signal. Upon receiving the detection signal from the cover sensor 5, the CPU 14 inhibits the operation of a printing mechanism 10.

TL;DR: In this paper, the same information can be recorded in one medium with two elements, namely, an electric element and a magnetic element, in order to improve the safety of information and reduce the number of management processes.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the safety of information and to reduce the number of management processes by recording the same information in one medium with two elements, namely, an electric element and a magnetic element. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording part 2 of a flexible medium is provided as in the conventional manner. Further, a semiconductor integrated circuit mounted with flexible disk medium 1 composed of a semiconductor integrated circuit 4, an internal power source 6, a terminal 3 to receive a power source from an external part, and a means 5 to which the circuit 4 communicates the information is provided for one part of a cover. Thus, since both the information of the magnetic element and the information of the electric element can be used by the recording part 2 and the circuit 4, and the information can be made into a duplex system so that the other information can be used when the destruction of one information is detected, the safety of the information can be improved.

TL;DR: In this article, the carrier frequencies and the levels of reception of the radio signals are determined at least in one representative place inside the region, and the transmission levels for the priority signals needed to cover the actual reception levels are determined in relation to these latter levels.
Abstract: The carrier frequencies and the levels of reception of the radio signals are determined at least in one representative place inside the region. The transmission levels for the priority signals needed to cover the actual reception levels are determined in relation to these latter levels for all the carrier frequencies involved. The priority signals are transmitted sequentially, in groups or parallel, on carriers with frequencies corresp to the carrier frequencies already determined and at the level already determined. USE/ADVANTAGE - e.g. for VHF receiver. Alarms or warning signals can be received by any receiver which is switched on or even if sound is turned down.
