TL;DR: A decision tree-based method for detecting cyber attacks on a small-scale robotic vehicle using both cyber and physical features that can be measured by its on-board systems and processes that noticeably improves the detection accuracy for two of the four attack types and reduces the detection latency for all four.
Abstract: Intrusion detection systems designed for conventional computer systems and networks are not necessarily suitable for mobile cyber-physical systems, such as robots, drones and automobiles. They tend to be geared towards attacks of different nature and do not take into account mobility, energy consumption and other physical aspects that are vital to a mobile cyber-physical system. We have developed a decision tree-based method for detecting cyber attacks on a small-scale robotic vehicle using both cyber and physical features that can be measured by its on-board systems and processes. We evaluate it experimentally against a variety of scenarios involving denial of service, command injection and two types of malware attacks. We observe that the addition of physical features noticeably improves the detection accuracy for two of the four attack types and reduces the detection latency for all four.

TL;DR: A network infrastructure based on three layers, where the redundant support is primarily concentrated on a fog-based structure to protect a specific subset of cyber-physical control devices.
Abstract: We are increasingly witness to the enormous security problems that cyber-physical control systems have and their susceptibility to certain types of attacks. An attractive way to coordinate the situation and ensure resilience in lineal times could be through redundancy-based restoration mechanisms. For this reason, in this article, we present a network infrastructure based on three layers, where the redundant support is primarily concentrated on a fog-based structure to protect a specific subset of cyber-physical control devices. The specification of the context and the abstract construction of the approach include a set of conceptual theories related to structural controllability, power dominance, supernode, and opinion dynamics, where the validation of the approach is subject to a practical analysis based on two threat case studies.

TL;DR: The five major trends of the future manufacturing are summarised, and some enabling technologies about Industry 4.0 are introduced, among them, CPS plays a key role in the Industry 5.0 factory.
Abstract: Recently, 'Industry 4.0' has become the supporting force in the manufacturing field. From CPS to Industry 4.0, they are leading a new round of industrial revolution. To meet the fourth industrial revolution, USA, European countries, Japan, South Korea and China have presented different versions of the so-called 'Industry 4.0' strategies respectively, which are different from each other in the content, but their common goal is to achieve manufacturing structural adjustment and restructuring and upgrading, to seize a place for future manufacturing, to provide users with better service. What is more, we summarised the five major trends of the future manufacturing. Then, we introduce some enabling technologies about Industry 4.0, among them, CPS plays a key role in the Industry 4.0 factory. Based on the customer to business (C2B) mode, we regard everything as a service, and propose a structure of Industry 4.0. Finally, the automotive industry as an example, we make a brief introduction about an Industry 4.0 case. [Received 15 December 2015; Revised 30 May 2016; Accepted 30 May 2016]
