Abstract: An impact energy absorbing panel assembly for mounting on the dashboard of an automobile to cushion the impact of an occupant of the automobile with the dashboard during a collision. The panel assembly has a skeletal frame with a foam body molded about the frame. The frame is constructed and mounted so as to absorb impact energy in a predetermined manner to minimize injury to the automobile's occupant.
