TL;DR: In this article, a case fixed to a vehicle dashboard has an opening and side walls having through holes, and the connecting portions of the door are connected to the side walls of the case by stays.
Abstract: In an air bag apparatus which is installed at an opening of a dashboard, a case fixed to a vehicle dashboard has an opening and side walls having through holes. A door to cover the opening of the case has connecting portions having through holes. The connecting portions of the door are connected to the side walls of the case by stays. In this case, one end of each of the stays is fixed to the outer face of one of the side walls and the other end penetrates both the respective through holes of one of the side walls and one of the connecting portions so that the door can move in three dimensions with respect to the case. As a result, the door can be disposed at the opening of the dashboard without tilting with respect to the upper surface of the dashboard.

TL;DR: The dashboard of a motor vehicle comprises a number of modules which constitute the controls necessary for driving the vehicle, for safety, and for vehicle comfort as discussed by the authors, which are arranged around the dashboard region of the vehicle in the form of independent modules.
Abstract: The structure for the dashboard of a motor vehicle comprises a number of modules which constitute the controls necessary for driving the vehicle, for safety and for vehicle comfort. The modules which are arranged around the dashboard region of the vehicle are in the form of independent modules (A,B,C), at least certain of which are interchangeable. The arrangement may comprise a central module (B) and two side modules (A,C), the module A constituting the controls necessary for driving the vehicle. The central module (B) constitutes the air conditioning and temperature control. This is mounted centrally w.r.t. the vehicle longitudinal axis and contains those controls which are less directly linked to the essential driving of the vehicle. The third module (C) may contain spaces for installation of a portable computer, fax machine or other equipment.

TL;DR: In this paper, a heat exchanger unit and a blower unit are hangingly provided at a steering member 30 extended in the cross direction of a vehicle on the back side of an instrument panel, and disposed with required spaces from a vertical wall 36 of a dashboard lower panel 35 and from the upper part of a floor tunnel part 37.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount an air conditioner advantageously from the viewpoint of sound and vibration as well as strength by providing a heat exchanger unit and a blower unit hangingly at a steering member, and disposing them with spaces from a vertical wall of a dashboard lower panel and from the upper part of a floor tunnel part continuous with the vertical wall. SOLUTION: A heat exchanger unit 1 and a blower unit are hangingly provided at a steering member 30 extended in the cross direction of a vehicle on the back side of an instrument panel, and disposed with required spaces from a vertical wall 36 of a dashboard lower panel 35 and from the upper part of a floor tunnel part 37. With this constitution vibration generated at the heat exchanger unit 1 and blower unit is not transmitted to the dashboard lower panel 35 and a floor panel jointed to the dashboard lower panel 35. Sound and vibration performance can therefore be improved, and quality and reliability can be heightened.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a combined indicator panel consisting of a dashboard and a transparent indicating panel, which is arranged in front of the dashboard, and a light intensity equaliser equalises the total intensity of the combined panel, between the covered and non-covered sections.
Abstract: The combined indicator panel includes a dashboard (1) and a transparent indicating panel (2), which is arranged in the front of the dashboard. The transparent panel covers a section of the dashboard. A covered section (3A) and a non-covered section (3B) are formed on the combined indicator panel. A light intensity equaliser equalises the total intensity of the combined panel, between the covered and the non-covered section. The light equalising system has an illumination unit (51-54), which is arranged behind the dashboard. At one section which corresponds to the covered section (3A) the unit has a greater illumination power, than at a section which corresponds to the non-covered section (3B).

TL;DR: In this article, a vehicle theft deterrent apparatus and method includes a flashing light emitting diode (LED) placed in a visible position within the passenger compartment of a vehicle to simulate an authenticate, armed security system.
Abstract: A vehicle theft deterrent apparatus and method includes a flashing light emitting diode (LED) placed in a visible position within the passenger compartment of a vehicle to simulate an authenticate, armed security system. The flashing LED is powered by a DC power supply that is hidden behind a dashboard, under a carpet, in a glove compartment, or in some other remote, hidden location. An elongate, flexible conductor interconnects the LED and the power supply and is also hidden from view. The transverse cross section of the conductor enables it to be hidden at the base of a windshield or to extend through a small space between dashboard panels. The conductor is connected directly to the LED so that no housing for the LED is required and no holes need be drilled in the dashboard to accommodate a housing. A potential thief is deterred from a theft attempt because the only visible part of the apparatus is the flashing LED.
