TL;DR: In this article, a driver-adaptive digital instrument system for a vehicle is provided to implement a dashboard application flexibly displaying information contents/type according to a vehicle state and driver selection based on a flat display panel and an embedded computer.
Abstract: A driver-adaptive digital instrument system for a vehicle is provided to implement a dashboard application flexibly displaying information contents/type according to a vehicle state and driver selection based on a flat display panel and an embedded computer, and implement a GUI(Graphic User Interface) enabling the driver to select various kinds of display elements of a cluster with a mobile phone. Hardware comprises the embedded computer, the flat panel display displaying instrument information, and the mobile phone for controlling the cluster. Software is executed to process/operate a signal in the embedded computer, and comprises a cluster program displaying driving/additional information and a mobile GUI program controlling the information displayed to a dashboard by linking with the cluster program through a mobile network technology. The cluster program comprises an ignition module displaying a vehicle state to be checked before the vehicle is changed to a driving mode, a driving module displaying a speedometer, an odometer, a fuel gauge, a temperature gauge, and various alarm lamps, and an additional information module enabling the dashboard to integrally operate a telematics service.

TL;DR: An extruded metallic housing or retainer for containing and supporting an inflatable airbag behind the dashboard of a vehicle is described in this paper, where the curved retainer has ends or legs, adjacent to the dashboard, at least one of which is weakened along a narrow transverse area by heat treatment and/or reduced wall thickness.
Abstract: An extruded metallic housing or retainer for containing and supporting an inflatable airbag behind the dashboard of a vehicle The curved retainer has ends or legs, adjacent the dashboard, at least one of which is weakened along a narrow transverse area by heat treatment and/or reduced wall thickness Occupant impact against said leg is cushioned by the bending or flexing of the leg along the weakened area

TL;DR: In this paper, an operating method for an airbag device with an air bag module located behind a multipart dashboard includes opening the dashboard in a manner similar to that of the mouth of a fish before, during, or after the triggering of the air bag device.
Abstract: An airbag device includes an airbag module that is located behind a multipart dashboard. An opening device opens the multipart dashboard in a manner similar to that of the mouth of a fish. An operating method for an airbag device with an airbag module located behind a multipart dashboard includes opening the dashboard in a manner similar to that of the mouth of a fish before, during, or after the triggering of the airbag device. According to another embodiment, a dashboard includes at least one fabric flap or foil flap which is integrated into the dashboard on at least one side by using detachable retaining devices in order to close an opening in the dashboard. The airbag module is positioned behind the opening in such a way that an airbag opens the retaining devices when it is triggered and emerges through the opening.

TL;DR: A self-driving car physical prototype based on traditional visual method of lane keeping, implemented on Raspberry Pi is proposed which is capable of maneuvering on various kind of tracks autonomously.
Abstract: The evolution of artificial intelligence has served as the catalyst in the field of technology and is making our imaginations real. One of such creation is the birth of self- driving car (autonomous robot). In this paper, a self-driving car physical prototype based on traditional visual method of lane keeping, implemented on Raspberry Pi is proposed which is capable of maneuvering on various kind of tracks autonomously. The proposed method comprises of taking an image from a front facing dashboard camera of the car, detecting the lane from the image and analysing the deviation of the car from the road which is further used to keep the car on the track. The proposed method is implemented on a 1/10 scale car which contains Raspberry Pi 3 Model-B computer and Pi Cam Rev 1.3 for computations and processing. The testing was done without any human intervention on self-made lined track having all kind of turns. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and the robustness of the self-driving car in terms of the navigation error while following the reference trajectory.
