Abstract: The invention discloses a new mainframe configuration method based on OpenStack, and the OpenStack is configured with a dashboard module, a Nova module and a database. The configuration process comprises the following steps: (1) intercepting an application of creating a mainframe from the dashboard module; (2) after obtaining configuration information on a configuration interface of a temporary mainframe, generating a configuration template file to replace the dashboard module, logging the configuration information into the database, and initiating an application of creating the mainframe to a Nova-api module; (3) after the application is responded by the Nova-api module, returning the control right to the dashboard module, and completing the subsequent interactive operation by the dashboard module. By means of the method, the mainframe configuration can be adjusted directly without creating a template in advance, so that multiple mainframes of different configuration can be created, meanwhile, the creating method of the configuration template is reserved, and the working efficiency is greatly improved.

Abstract: In the car manufacturing industry the trend is to drastically reduce the time-to-market by increasing the use of the Digital Mock-up instead of physical prototypes. Design review and ergonomic studies are specific tasks because they involve qualitative or even subjective judgments. In this paper, we present IMAVE (IMmersion Adapted to a VEhicle) designed for immersive styling review, gaps visualization and simple ergonomic studies. We show that stereoscopic displays are necessary and must fulfill several constraints due to the proximity and size of the car dashboard. The duration of the work sessions forced us to eliminate all vertical parallax, and 1:1 scale is obviously required for a valid immersion. Two demonstrators were realized allowing us to have a large set of testers (over 100). More than 80% of the testers saw an immediate use of the IMAVE system. We discuss the good and bad marks awarded to the system. Future work include being able to use several rear-projected stereo screens for doors and central console visualization, but without the parallax presently visible in some CAVE-like environments.

Abstract: The vehicle journey data computer has a control section enabling data input and request and an indicator displaying the data. The unit is operated with minimal driver distraction. The keyboard can be used without the driver needing to see it because there is an acoustic indication on a readily visible indication of which key is pressed. The indicator has several display fields for different data including a numerical display shaving the value of each parameter. The display fields are arranged in neighbouring groups. Each group is associated with a key in a keyboard layed out similarly to the indicator groups. The indicator section is located in the dashboard and the control section with keyboard near the normal driving hand position.
