Multi-purpose dashboard attachment

Abstract: An attachment for the dashboard of a motor vehicle including a rectangular panel pivotally movable between positions approximately parallel to the top of the dashboard and to the windshield and having a raised lip bordering three sides which contacts the windshield when the panel is raised. The defroster outlet discharges into the space between the panel and windshield, the air being confined by the lip and exiting through one or more air outlet passages therein. The panel serves as an effective glare and heat shield when in its raised position. A shallow drawer, which may be extended to provide a shelf disposed within a recess in the dashboard and is covered by the panel when in its lower position.

Wi-fi premises to vehicle telematics interface

Abstract: A Wi-Fi (Wireless-Fidelity) premises/home to vehicle telematics interface system is provided that uses Wi-Fi technology to enable communications between a control panel of a security system protecting a premises and a vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with a Wi-Fi transceiver and processor that enable Wi-Fi data communications and a monitor/display that is preferably integrated into the dashboard display of the vehicle. The invention enables the status of a residential or business security system to be monitored and updated from a vehicle, such as before a homeowner enters the residence protected by the security system, and also allows the security system to monitor the status of and control functions of the vehicle.

System and method for electronic road signs with in-car display capabilities

Abstract: The present invention is method and system for delivering road sign content information to a mobile computing device for display to the driver of a vehicle. The system consists of a wireless communication network in communication with a mobile computing device operationally coupled to a dashboard display device or a vehicle head's up display device. The wireless communication network further comprises a plurality of meshed network sign transmitting devices placed along predetermined intervals along the highway. Each sign-transmitting device is capable of transmitting road sign content information to the mobile computing device for display to the driver.

Abstract: There is now provided a motor vehicle dashboard for a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle dashboard has a frame structure that can be attached to a motor vehicle body. The dashboard has a first element with a first attachment side and a second attachment side opposite the first attachment side, with the first attachment side of the first element being configured to be adhered to the frame structure. The first element comprises foam. The dashboard has a second element with a first side that is configured to be exposed towards the interior of a motor vehicle, and a second, attachment, side opposite the first side of the second element. The first side of the second element provides a leather-like appearance to the dashboard. The abstract of the disclosure is submitted herewith as required by 37 C.F.R. §1.72(b). As stated in 37 C.F.R. §1.72(b), “A brief abstract of the technical disclosure in the specification must commence on a separate sheet, preferably following the claims, under the heading “Abstract of the Disclosure.” The purpose of the abstract is to enable the Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and gist of the technical disclosure.
