TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the statistical distribution of driver glance times to two mirrors, four dashboard displays, and an outside-the-vehicle target, and the closeness with which the model approximated the data is presented in detail for one dashboard display.
Abstract: The frequency and duration of visual glances by drivers scanning the roadway scene has been researched. Recent studies have given statistical parameters of experimental data. This data allows the statistical distribution of driver glance times to be estimated based on an appropriate analytical model. This paper presents the statistical distribution of driver glance times to two mirrors, four dashboard displays, and an outside-the-vehicle target. The closeness with which the model approximates the data is presented in detail for one dashboard display. The details of the study are described, and the results are discussed.

25 Oct 1977TL;DR: In this paper, an instrument panel cover pivotally connected to the vehicle dashboard is adapted to fold upon itself into a position above the dashboard to minimize the storage space required by the panel cover when not in use and to eliminate obstructions in the operator compartment or the operator's field of vision.
Abstract: An instrument panel cover pivotally connected to the vehicle dashboard and adapted to be folded upon itself into a position above the dashboard to minimize the storage space required by the panel cover when not in use and to eliminate obstructions in the operator compartment or the operator's field of vision.

TL;DR: In this article, an integrated system and method for energy, state and operation monitoring and control of restaurant kitchen and non-kitchen/building equipment is provided, which includes sensors and other data transmitting equipment communicatively connected to a local server and a computing device via a router.
Abstract: An integrated system and method are provided for energy, state and operation monitoring and control of restaurant kitchen and non-kitchen/building equipment. The system includes sensors and other data transmitting equipment communicatively connected to a local server and a computing device via a router. The data transmission equipment and server preferably utilize power-line data transmission as well as wireless data transmission. A dashboard application of the system provides a user interface guiding user responses to energy, state, and operational/service alerts and enabling user-input scheduled control settings. The system may also provide automatic feedback control of restaurant equipment.
