TL;DR: In this article, a system for mounting instruments such as CB radios, tape players, or other vehicle electronic systems such as computers in the dashboard opening of the ventilation system of a vehicle includes an adaptor plenum, housing and faceplate for redirecting the vehicle's output ventilators and providing adjacent space in the housing for the mounting of an electronic instrument.
Abstract: A system for mounting instruments such as CB radios, tape players, or other vehicle electronic systems such as computers in the dashboard opening of the ventilation system of a vehicle includes an adaptor plenum, housing and faceplate for redirecting the vehicle's output ventilators and providing adjacent space in the housing for the mounting of an electronic instrument. Such a system incorporates the existing ventilating system opening for the addition of after-market electronic systems to achieve a factory installed design appearance and to conveniently position the electronic instrument for use by the vehicle operator.

TL;DR: An improved radio and/or radio tape player combination that is readily mounted in a dashboard from the same convenient position in front thereof in which it is operated or played, but yet is not susceptible to theft by being merely disconnected from the dashboard, due to a transversely oriented front housing incorporated in the construction thereof.
Abstract: An improved radio and/or radio tape player combination that is readily mounted in a dashboard from the same convenient position in front thereof in which it is operated or played, but yet is not susceptible to theft by being merely disconnected from the dashboard, due to a transversely oriented front housing incorporated in the construction thereof. The housing, as explained in greater detail subsequently, serves as an effective compartment-bounding structure for the advantageous internal placement of the mounting bolts which attach the radio to the dashboard; the bolts, as a result, being readily masked from view and otherwise rendered difficult to be tampered with.
