TL;DR: In this article, a front vehicle body of the vehicle includes: the dashboard lower panel 16 that partitions the front and the rear of a vehicle body 11, the inner pillar 22 of the front pillar 21 installed outside the vehicle width of the dashboard upper panel 16, an indoor side reinforcing member 26 that partially reinforces the vehicle body from backward, and a damper base stiffener 27 that unites with the indoor side reinforcement member 26.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a bonding strength of connections between a dashboard lower panel and an inner pillar of a front pillar, even though using a thin plate for the dashboard lower panel with a wide area.SOLUTION: A front vehicle body of the vehicle includes: the dashboard lower panel 16 that partitions the front and the rear of a vehicle body 11; the inner pillar 22 of the front pillar 21 installed outside the vehicle width of the dashboard lower panel 16; an indoor side reinforcing member 26 that partially reinforces the dashboard lower panel 16 from backward of the vehicle body; and a damper base stiffener 27 that unites with the indoor side reinforcing member 26. The inner pillar 22, the indoor side reinforcing member 26, and the damper base stiffener 27 are formed with the steel plate whose board thickness is thicker than the dashboard lower panel 16, and an extension 55 that extends from a connection 42 with the dashboard lower panel 16 forward is installed in the inner pillar 22, and the extension 55 is united with the damper base stiffener 27.

TL;DR: A dashboard and steering wheel assembly for a motor vehicle arranged with a front seat for driver and passenger safety, the assembly including a dashboard having a heavily padded, substantially flat, inclined surface substantially encompassing a padded steering wheel oriented flush with the inclined surface of the dashboard, the steering wheel having a structural construction to provide a cushioning effect substantially equal to the dashboard as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A dashboard and steering wheel assembly for a motor vehicle arranged with a front seat for driver and passenger safety, the assembly including a dashboard having a heavily padded, substantially flat, inclined surface substantially encompassing a padded steering wheel oriented flush with the inclined surface of the dashboard, the steering wheel having a structural construction to provide a cushioning effect substantially equal to the dashboard, the surface of the dashboard and flush oriented steering wheel being inclined at an angle and positioned with respect to the seat to maximize the contact area of a forward thrust driver and passenger on collision of the vehicle.

TL;DR: A dashboard support for a motor vehicle, including a support beam extending between windshield pillars of a vehicle body, is described in this paper, where a controller is connected to the piezoelectric elements.
Abstract: A dashboard support for a motor vehicle, includes a support beam extending between windshield pillars of a motor vehicle body. Associated to the support beam is an active arrangement, which includes ceramic piezoelectric elements and a controller operatively connected to the piezoelectric elements, for implementing a vibration damping.

08 Jan 2013TL;DR: In this paper, a dashboard upper panel is provided with a front vertical wall extending vertically in a vehicle top/bottom direction, a horizontal bottom wall extending substantially horizontally in the vehicle front/rear direction, and a rear horizontal flange extending from the rear inclined wall toward the rear of the vehicle.
Abstract: A dashboard upper panel is provided with: a front vertical wall extending substantially vertically in a vehicle top/bottom direction; a horizontal bottom wall extending substantially horizontally in a vehicle front/rear direction from the front vertical wall; a rear inclined wall extending from the horizontal bottom wall toward the rear of the vehicle and diagonally toward the top of the vehicle; a front horizontal flange extending from the front vertical wall toward the front of the vehicle; and a rear horizontal flange extending from the rear inclined wall toward the rear of the vehicle. A dashboard lower panel is provided with an inclined flange formed at an upper end of the dashboard lower panel. By joining the inclined flange to a lower portion of the rear inclined wall, the dashboard upper panel is supported by the dashboard lower panel from below at substantially the center in the vehicle front/rear direction.

12 Sep 2005TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a dashboard for a motor vehicle with a screen for displaying information, the screen being arranged in front of the dashboard as seen by a vehicle occupant, in order to form a dashboard such that the screen can be read equally well both by the driver and by the passenger, depending on requirements.
Abstract: The invention relates to a dashboard for a motor vehicle, with a screen for displaying information, the screen being arranged in front of the dashboard as seen by a vehicle occupant. In order to form a dashboard such that the screen can be read equally well both by the driver and by the passenger, depending on requirements, with the installation space in the region of the dashboard at the same time being utilized in an optimum manner, the screen can be moved along the dashboard in the horizontal direction.
