TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus and method consisting of a model of a vehicle dashboard, steering wheel, windshield area and illustration of a driving situation or location attached to and extending in front of the vehicle simulator is presented.
Abstract: An apparatus and method consisting of a model of a vehicle dashboard, steering wheel, windshield area and illustration of a driving situation or location attached to and extending in front of the vehicle simulator. The student driver follows highlighted arrows imprinted on the illustration to view the driving area and the dashboard instruments with a specific eye movement pattern. The specific eye movement pattern taught is to look at the center, scan left, look to the center, scan right, look to the center, check the mirror, look to the center, and check the instruments. The windshield of the apparatus contains a center mark comprising a small hole directly in front of the student driver that indicates the very small area of central vision that can be viewed and maneuvered effectively simulating a scanning eye movement pattern. The student driver moves his “central vision” from area to area systematically in order to be aware of all that is happening in the surrounding driving vicinity.

TL;DR: In this article, a radio case or enclosure having a display sized to fit into most original automobile dashboard radio display openings is provided electrically connected to the radio via relatively long cables.
Abstract: A replacement or retrofit radio which can be used to replace a wide range of older automobile radios and fit into an almost unlimited number of dashboard configurations comprises a radio case or enclosure having a display sized to fit into most original automobile dashboard radio display openings. Separate control knob shafts and associated controls are provided electrically connected to the radio via relatively long cables. With separate control knob shafts, there is no limit to where the controls and shafts are placed with respect to the radio case and display. A selected set of brackets can be attached to the radio with the selected set of brackets providing adjustable physical mounting of the control knob shafts to the brackets and physical connection of the control knob shafts to the radio. This allows mounting of the radio in the dashboard of the automobile in the usual manner of tightening nuts onto threaded control knob shaft sleeves.

TL;DR: In this paper, a dashboard wall between front body and passenger cell is shown to have two engine supports at relative distance, and extending in longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and a scuttle-dash.
Abstract: The motor vehicle body has a dashboard wall between front body and passenger cell. The wall has two engine supports at relative distance, and extending in longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and a scuttle-dash. This is located under the windscreen, and extends across the width of the vehicle. Also fastened to the dashboard wall (2) is an X-shaped support (14). This connects the engine supports (4,5) to the scuttle-dash (7). The X-shaped support consists of a one-piece saucer-shaped formed sheet metal part. It is symmetrical, and has at least two arms (17-20), each of these with a U-shaped profile. The X-support also has a surface (39,40) for fastening of a steering column. USE/ADVANTAGE - Motor vehicle body structure with increased torsion resistance, does not rattle.

TL;DR: A new method based on augmented reality offers a new way for visibility and accessibility assessment in the conceptual design of automotive development and shows that this method is simple and useful.
Abstract: Automotive interior ergonomics analysis is an important step for its development validation in the process, which directly affects the product development cycle time and cost. In order to provide a quick and human-in-loop visibility evaluation method for style designer when designing vehicle interior, a new method is proposed based on augmented reality. In this method, firstly virtual car interior model is superimposed to physical mockup accurately, then driving virtual visual cones through tracking eyes' position by tracking tool in real time to carry on visibility assessment. In addition, right hand's motion data is captured by data glove and tracking tool, which is used to drive virtual hand for interaction with virtual interior model, then carrying on accessibility assessment. Based on above-mentioned method the automotive interior ergonomics assessment system is designed and realized, which is verified by two cases of evaluating a certain car model's A-pillar and operating the hand controls locating on the middle dashboard in the different position. The result shows that this method is simple and useful. Therefore, it offers a new way for visibility and accessibility assessment in the conceptual design of automotive development.

TL;DR: The proposed solution is a technological bridge with which farmers can easily, affordably, and understandably monitor and track the progress of their farms with easy integration into an existing IoT system.
Abstract: Smart farms, as a part of high-tech agriculture, collect a huge amount of data from IoT devices about the conditions of animals, plants, and the environment. These data are most often stored locally and are not used in intelligent monitoring systems to provide opportunities for extracting meaningful knowledge for the farmers. This often leads to a sense of missed transparency, fairness, and accountability, and a lack of motivation for the majority of farmers to invest in sensor-based intelligent systems to support and improve the technological development of their farm and the decision-making process. In this paper, a data-driven intelligent monitoring system in a cloud environment is proposed. The designed architecture enables a comprehensive solution for interaction between data extraction from IoT devices, preprocessing, storage, feature engineering, modelling, and visualization. Streaming data from IoT devices to interactive live reports along with built machine learning (ML) models are included. As a result of the proposed intelligent monitoring system, the collected data and ML modelling outcomes are visualized using a powerful dynamic dashboard. The dashboard allows users to monitor various parameters across the farm and provides an accessible way to view trends, deviations, and patterns in the data. ML models are trained on the collected data and are updated periodically. The data-driven visualization enables farmers to examine, organize, and represent collected farm’s data with the goal of better serving their needs. Performance and durability tests of the system are provided. The proposed solution is a technological bridge with which farmers can easily, affordably, and understandably monitor and track the progress of their farms with easy integration into an existing IoT system.
