TL;DR: In this paper, a steering system is rotatably supported by a dashboard via a bearing member, which can be removed from the dashboard when the vehicle hits against another vehicle by applying a load applied by the collision.
Abstract: In a steering system, a shaft unit is rotatably supported by a dashboard via a bearing member. When a vehicle hits against something or another vehicle, the bearing member frees the shaft unit from the dashboard. The bearing member includes a bearing and two brackets holding front and rear sides of the bearing. One of the brackets is attached to the dashboard. The brackets are disengaged from each other by a load applied by the collision of the vehicle, thereby freeing the shaft unit from the dashboard. The dashboard does not prevent the steering wheel and the freed shaft unit from moving toward a front part of the vehicle when a driver hits against the steering wheel due to inertia.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a mounting scheme for a dashboard for a tractor that simplifies, lightens, and stabilizes a mounting constitution of the dashboard for the tractor.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify, lighten and stabilize a mounting constitution of a dashboard for a tractor. SOLUTION: The constitution of the dashboard mounting device for a tractor is characterized by that a lower part of a steering post 3 is mounted on a dome-shaped lower part base 2 fixed between right and left body frames 1, lower parts of side frames 4 are mounted to right and left outer side front parts of the lower part base 2, and these side frames 4 and the steering post 3 are connected by connecting members 5.

TL;DR: In this paper, a polarisation filter was fitted before at least one of the dashboard light sources or alternatively, a transparent cap with light-polarising properties is fitted before the light source.
Abstract: Elimination of reflection into the windows from an illuminated dashboard of a motor vehicle which has illuminated instruments and windows in the driver's range of vision where part of the dashboard light sources has means to polarise the emitted light. The plane of polarisation is so chosen that the brightness of the light reflected from the window surfaces is as small as possible for the driver. A polarisation filter is fitted before at least one of the dashboard light sources or alternatively, a transparent cap, with light-polarising properties is fitted before one of the light source.

TL;DR: In this paper , a review of the literature on dashboard implementation in healthcare, where dashboards have been employed widely, and where there is widespread interest for improving the current state of the art, and subsequently analyse approaches taken towards evaluation.
Abstract: In the era of 'information overload', effective information provision is essential for enabling rapid response and critical decision making. In making sense of diverse information sources, dashboards have become an indispensable tool, providing fast, effective, adaptable, and personalized access to information for professionals and the general public alike. However, these objectives place heavy requirements on dashboards as information systems in usability and effective design. Understanding these issues is challenging given the absence of consistent and comprehensive approaches to dashboard evaluation. In this article we systematically review literature on dashboard implementation in healthcare, where dashboards have been employed widely, and where there is widespread interest for improving the current state of the art, and subsequently analyse approaches taken towards evaluation. We draw upon consolidated dashboard literature and our own observations to introduce a general definition of dashboards which is more relevant to current trends, together with seven evaluation scenarios - task performance, behaviour change, interaction workflow, perceived engagement, potential utility, algorithm performance and system implementation. These scenarios distinguish different evaluation purposes which we illustrate through measurements, example studies, and common challenges in evaluation study design. We provide a breakdown of each evaluation scenario, and highlight some of the more subtle questions. We demonstrate the use of the proposed framework by a design study guided by this framework. We conclude by comparing this framework with existing literature, outlining a number of active discussion points and a set of dashboard evaluation best practices for the academic, clinical and software development communities alike.

TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus for holding and receiving a navigation device for a vehicle is provided to offer convenience by horizontally tilting the navigation device on a dashboard after use, where the navigation holder is held by a hinge-coupled hinge shaft.
Abstract: An apparatus for holding and receiving a navigation device for a vehicle is provided to offer convenience by horizontally tilting the navigation device on a dashboard after use. An apparatus for holding and receiving a navigation device for a vehicle comprises: a main case consisting of a base member(110) and a cover member(120) and accepting the navigation device inside; a navigation holder(200) whose upper part is hinge-coupled at the upper part inside the cover member with a second hinge shaft and lower part is slid forward and backward on the base member; a first rotary driving unit upwardly operating the cover member from the base member; and a second rotary driving unit forwardly operating the navigation holder from the cover members.
