TL;DR: In this article, an image processing system for identifying car stealers in a car involving a high risk to be stolen, comprising a device to take the full-faced image of the criminal without his/her knowledge, is presented.
Abstract: An image processing system for identifying car stealer to be set in a car involving a high risk to be stolen, comprising a device to take the full-faced image of the criminal without his/her knowledge. A dashboard panel ( 2 ) in front of the driver's seat comprises a meter housing ( 10 ) provided on a lamp case ( 12 ) for storing a light source ( 13 ) of indicator lamps ( 6 a ) and ( 6 b ). An indicator panel ( 14 ) made of transparent material is provided in front of the dashboard panel ( 2 ), therein the lighting from the light source is sent from the lamp case ( 12 ) to the front surface of the dashboard panel ( 2 ). An image taking device ( 21 ) which is a candid camera is provided in the lamp case ( 12 ), therein the image of the person sitting in the driver's seat can be taken through the indicator panel ( 14 ). An image memory device ( 22 ) of the candid camera corresponds to the lighting of the indicator lamps ( 6 a ) and ( 6 b ), and save the image taken by the image taking device ( 21 ). An indicator turn signal lamp is preferably used for the indicator lamps ( 6 a ) and ( 6 b ).

TL;DR: In this paper, a protection device for the driver of a vehicle equipped with a dashboard and a steering wheel, in order to provide, on impact, a displacement of the steering wheel towards the dashboard, is presented.
Abstract: A protection device for the driver of a vehicle equipped with a dashboard and a steering wheel, in order to provide, on impact, a displacement of the steering wheel towards the dashboard, said steering wheel being mounted on a steering column passing under an instrument-carrying zone situated with regard to the steering wheel and connected to, but distinct from, the dashboard, said protection device comprising means for displacement of the instrument-carrying zone, the displacement means being adapted to move the instrument-carrying zone, on impact, in one of an upward vertical direction and in a direction having a vertical upward component, wherein the means for displacement of the instrument-carrying zone connect the steering column directly to said instrument-carrying zone, so that, on impact, said displacement of the steering column results in the displacement of the instrument-carrying zone along said direction.

TL;DR: This position paper presents a new type of serious gaming application based on the cloud that processes vehicular data in order to reward and coach the driver, keeping into account the simultaneous presence of various vehicles and stimulating behavior enhancement.
Abstract: People spend daily a significant amount of time in cars, and vehicular mobility has remarkable social implications (in particular traffic and pollution). In this context, there is room for drivers can improve their own behavior, also in a common good perspective. This position paper presents a new type of serious gaming application based on the cloud. The serious game processes vehicular data in order to reward and coach the driver. Scores and analytics are computed, and displayed on the automotive dashboard and on smartphone screens, keeping into account the simultaneous presence of various vehicles and stimulating behavior enhancement. The SG has been specified and its development has started both on the client and server side. In a user-centered design perspective, the next steps of development of the application will involve early simulations and user tests in lab in order to check fulfilment of requirements and verification of end-user acceptance.
