TL;DR: A new routing and data aggregation scheme based on clustering is proposed that can provide better energy efficient data aggregation as compared to the KAT (K-means And Traveling salesman path) mobility.
Abstract: Recently, much effort aiming at achieving ubiquitous networks has been made. A ubiquitous network refers to a network environment, which enables anytime and anywhere access, by possibly any given device or by any user. In a ubiquitous network, applications require many types of information such as temperature and so forth. A great deal of attention has been paid to aggregate this information in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). A WSN consists of tiny nodes comprising sensing and communication devices. The information sensed by each node is relayed via other nodes in the WSN to the destination node called the ``sink''. One of the most significant challenges pertaining to any WSN is to reduce the energy consumption of its nodes, which run on scarce battery resources. An effective scheme to reduce this energy consumption is to exploit the sink node's mobility, which however presents new challenges to the sink node's routing and information aggregation. In this paper, we propose a new routing and data aggregation scheme based on clustering. Simulation results demonstrate that our scheme can provide better energy efficient data aggregation as compared to the KAT (K-means And Traveling salesman path) mobility.

TL;DR: Security analysis shows that the presented scheme can guarantee the privacy, confidentiality and integrity of the personal multimedia data and the performance analysis indicates the proposed scheme is lightweight.
Abstract: With the continuous development of multimedia technology, a growing number of multimedia applications have emerged. The demand for multimedia services continues to grow. But the development of multimedia services is still hampered by inherent security. Privacy and integrity of multimedia data are two key issues for implementing mobile multimedia security. At present, most data privacy-preserving solutions have a trusted third party, which may become the bottleneck of the system. And, the computational efficiency of the client is inefficient. In this paper, a lightweight and privacy-preserving data aggregation for mobile multimedia is proposed. In the proposed scheme, the terminal calculation is lightweight and there is no trusted third party in our scheme. Besides, multimedia big data and personal multimedia data are balanced by creating virtual aggregation areas and the system performance is improved by adopting batch verification in our scheme. Security analysis shows that the presented scheme can guarantee the privacy, confidentiality and integrity of the personal multimedia data. The performance analysis indicates the proposed scheme is lightweight.

TL;DR: An innovative congestion control algorithm for wireless sensor networks based on data aggregation, which will be referred to as Data-Aggregation Congestion Control (DACC), which has been designed by exploiting linear discrete time control theory.
Abstract: In-network processing and data-aggregation are key features of Wireless Sensor Networks. In fact, they allow the data to be processed and aggregated as they go through the network. In this work, we propose an innovative congestion control algorithm for wireless sensor networks based on data aggregation, which will be referred to as Data-Aggregation Congestion Control (DACC). The algorithm has been designed by exploiting linear discrete time control theory. It can be applied in a fully distributed way. Using our approach, each node periodically evaluates the amount of data to aggregate in order to control the level of its transmission queue. The aggregation process involves only linear operations and allows the sink node to estimate the confidence level of received data. The effectiveness of DACC has been evaluated with reference to a temperature monitoring problem in a fire detection scenario, using the Castalia simulator. Results have shown that DACC is able to significantly improve the estimation accuracy.

TL;DR: A trust-based secure data aggregation protocol for WSN that uses Combined Trust Values (CTVs) to favor packet forwarding for each node and identifies malicious or compromised nodes, and filters their data from the networks.
Abstract: Generally, the security issues in data aggregation of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are: data confidentiality and data integrity. Data confidentiality, which protects the sensitive transmitted data from the passive attacks such as eavesdropping, is the basic security issue. Data integrity prevents the compromised source nodes or aggregator nodes from significantly altering the final aggregation value. This paper proposes a trust-based secure data aggregation protocol for WSN. It does not involve any centralized infrastructure. It uses Combined Trust Values (CTVs) to favor packet forwarding for each node. In the proposed scheme, each sensor node has a CTV which is based on the trust evaluation factors, such as identification, sensing data and consistency. Based on these factors, one can identify malicious or compromised nodes, and filter their data from the networks. Each aggregator determines a Message Authentication Code (MAC) value for the aggregated data and finally all the aggregated data reach the sink node. By verifying the MAC value of the aggregators, the sink identifies and eliminates the misbehaving aggregators. The simulation results show that the proposed protocol achieves good delivery ratio and throughput.
