TL;DR: This work exploits the directional forwarding exhibited in geographic routing where a sensor node could be passed by several redundant data messages and shows that a degree of data aggregation and a reduction in energy consumption are accomplished compared with no aggregation at all.

TL;DR: Security analysis illustrates that the proposed data aggregation scheme can achieve the data integrity, data privacy preservation and fine- grained data access control and is more efficient than existing schemes.
Abstract: With the rapid development of smart grid, smart meters are deployed at energy consumers' premises to collect real-time usage data Although such a communication model can help the control center of the energy producer to improve the efficiency and reliability of electricity delivery, it also leads to some security issues For example, this real-time data involves the customers' privacy Attackers may violate the privacy for house breaking, or they may tamper with the transmitted data for their own benefits For this purpose, many data aggregation schemes are proposed for privacy preservation However, rare of them cares about both the data aggregation and fine- grained access control to improve the data utility In this paper, we proposes a data aggregation scheme based on attribute decision tree Security analysis illustrates that our scheme can achieve the data integrity, data privacy preservation and fine- grained data access control Experiment results show that our scheme are more efficient than existing schemes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a wireless personal area network (WPN) using the pre-existing wiring from conventional payphone devices, where a data aggregator is operably connected to the wiring for the payphones to connect the aggregator to a public switch telephone network (PSTN) so that the data aggregators can communicate with a data concentrator via the PSTN.
Abstract: The present invention is a wireless personal area network created utilizing the pre-existing wiring from conventional payphone devices. A data aggregator is operably connected to the wiring for the payphones to connect the aggregator to a public switch telephone network (PSTN) so that the data aggregator can communicate with a data concentrator via the PSTN. The data concentrator periodically retrieves and forwards data from the Internet to the data aggregator along the PSTN at speeds much greater than that of a conventional Internet connection. The data aggregator stores this data for subsequent transmission to a personal data access device via a wireless network access device operably connected to the data aggregator. In this manner the personal device can access data at speeds greater than conventional direct Internet connections without ever directly connecting to the Internet.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors proposed a data aggregation approach based on the important extrema points extraction for elongating the WSN lifetime (IEEDA), which reduces the amount of data remaining up to 95%, data sent up to 80%, and energy consumed up to 77%.
Abstract: Energy conservation is one of the most basic problems of wireless sensor networks. Energy of sensor nodes is limited, so effective energy usage is important. Data aggregation helps to minimise the volume of data communicated across the network while preserving information quality and decreasing energy waste, thereby enhancing the lifetime of network. In this paper, we propose a data aggregation approach based on the important extrema points extraction for elongating the WSN lifetime (IEEDA). Rather than transmitting all the set of collected measures at the end of every time period, we propose transmitting the extracted important extrema measures of sensor node. Using real-world data sets with radically different properties, we tested our method against two protocols ATP and PFF. The proposed method resulted in a reduction in the amount of the following: data remaining up to 95%, data sent up to 80%, and energy consumed up to 77%.
