TL;DR: The framework outlined is meant to provide an environment in which complex data handling problems can be solved with relative ease, and provides the user with tools sufficient for manipulation of arbitrary complex data bases in the form of an extremely simple interface.
Abstract: Problems inherent in representation and manipulation of large data bases are discussed. Data management is considered as the manipulation of relationships among elements of a data base. A detailed analogy introduces concepts embodied in a data management system. Set theory is used to describe a model for data bases, and operations suitable for manipulation of relations are defined. The architecture chosen for an implementation of the model is illustrated, and a representation of data bases is suggested. A particular implementation, the GOLD STAR system, is investigated and evaluated. The framework outlined is meant to provide an environment in which complex data handling problems can be solved with relative ease. GOLD STAR provides the user with tools sufficient for manipulation of arbitrary complex data bases; these provisions are presented in the form of an extremely simple interface.

TL;DR: An integrated system DECADIS DEscoberta de Conhecimento em Armazens de Dados de DIStribuigao (Knowledge Discovery in Retail Data Warehouses), designed for understanding customer behaviour and consumption patterns in a Portuguese company in the retail industry is proposed.
Abstract: Minute by minute the amount of data in the world databases is increasing inexorably. To support this growth of data the concept of data warehouse (DW) was created. DW when combined with On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) Codd[2] and Executive Information Systems (EIS) Buytendijk[l] tools, enable data access and visualization in a very flexible way. Features include very quick data exploration, vertical navigation (drill up/drill down), aggregation and graphical facilities. However, the amount and the complexity of data in data warehouses is so big that it becomes difficult to the business analysts to recognise trends and relations in data even with multidimensional decision support systems. A new generation of tools and techniques for automated intelligent database analysis is needed. These tools and techniques are the subject of the rapidly emerging field of Knowledge Discovery in Data Bases (KDD). In this paper, we propose an integrated system DECADIS DEscoberta de Conhecimento em Armazens de Dados de DIStribuigao (Knowledge Discovery in Retail Data Warehouses), designed for understanding customer behaviour and consumption patterns in a Portuguese company in the retail industry. TL;DR: The design of the data warehouse Sanglah hospital aims to build a data warehouse that can store data in structured and easier to analyze the data to make a decision.
Abstract: (p-issn: 2579-5988, e-issn: 2579-597X) 40 Abstract— The growth of patient data increasing the hospital resulted in even harder to compile data and analyze the data manually, so it takes a data warehouse that can perform this task automatically. The design of the data warehouse Sanglah hospital aims to build a data warehouse that can store data in structured and easier to analyze the data to make a decision. Design methods Fact Constellation Schema and method used is a Nine-step methodology consisting of nine stages, namely the Electoral Process, Selection of Grain, identification and adjustment of the dimensions, the Electoral Facts, Storage precalculation in the fact table, Ensuring the dimension tables, the Electoral duration database, Track changes of dimensions is slowly, prioritization and query model. Designing Data Warehouse Sanglah Hospital helpful enough for data processing in large enough quantities, so expect the needs and information about the patient can be met. Data warehouse Sanglah Hospital can be used to analyze patient data in order to get information on the number of patients of various dimensions.
