TL;DR: In this article, a database encryption method based on watermarking technique is proposed to protect personal confidential information database tables and associated primary keys in a public accessible object, where the primary keys are hidden in an existing database table and people will not be aware of the existence of sensitive information.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a database encryption method based on watermarking technique. It conceals personal confidential information database tables and associated primary keys in a public accessible object. Because the primary keys are hidden in an existing database table (assuming the user table includes a personal photo column, and system will use a default photo when the user has not yet provided a personal photo), people will not be aware of the existence of sensitive information. Compared to traditional cryptography methods wherein encrypted contents are likely visible. The invention can be used to assist the traditional cryptography methods in enhancing the data safety. The invention enables important data to be securely saved and it can be applied to health care, or database security of other applications such as wireless sensor network, e-commerce and financial related services.

TL;DR: It is proposed to apply the theory of private homomorphism to encrypt the database important or sensitive information, thus realizing direct operation of encrypted message.
Abstract: The information encryption methods and ideas of database system are discussed. The methods of database encryption based on files or records or fields and on subkey are analyzed and the database encryption technology that generates subkey is introduced. It is proposed to apply the theory of private homomorphism to encrypt the database important or sensitive information, thus realizing direct operation of encrypted message.

TL;DR: Key management is the crucial technique for database encryption and the secret data saved in database is encrypted with the creator's writing keys and the database administrator's ephemeral keys, the creators’ reading and writing keys must be changed periodically and the administrator’sEphemeral must be change after every writing operation.
Abstract: Key management is the crucial technique for database encryption. The keys to encryt and decrypt the secret data are generated and administered by the creators who create the secret data. Anyone who makes a request on the secret data has to register himself in a certificate authority and get his public key certificate. The requestor sends his request on the secret data to the database administrator and the creator of the secret data. The database administrator verifies the identity of the requestor and forwards the request to the creator. After the creator compares the two requests, he sends the keys to the requestor. The schmen is more safe because the keys is administered by different creators, the secret data saved in database is encrypted with the creator’s writing keys and the database administrator’s ephemeral keys, the creators’ reading and writing keys must be changed periodically and the administrator’s ephemeral must be changed after every writing operation.

TL;DR: This work presents two database encryption schemes that reveal just enough information about structured data to support a wide-range of relational queries and defines confidentiality offered by the schemes using a novel notion of equivalence of databases from the adversary's perspective.
Abstract: Motivated by the problem of simultaneously preserving confidentiality and usability of data outsourced to third-party clouds, we present two different database encryption schemes that largely hide data but reveal enough information to support a wide-range of relational queries. We provide a security definition for database encryption that captures confidentiality based on a notion of equivalence of databases from the adversary's perspective. As a specific application, we adapt an existing algorithm for finding violations of privacy policies to run on logs encrypted under our schemes and observe low to moderate overheads.

TL;DR: The authors provided a new database encrypted mode on the basis of domain metadata that adopted the Object Relation Mapping mechanism for heterogeneous databases, improved flexible and various cryptograph query by building ciphertext index, and designed and implemented the encryption and decryption system on the heterogeneous database.
Abstract: Data encryption is an effective way to guarantee the confidentiality of information. Concerning the poor compatibility of heterogeneous database and single type query of encrypted data in the general encryption and decryption systems, the authors provided a new database encrypted mode on the basis of domain metadata: adopted the Object Relation Mapping ( ORM ) mechanism for heterogeneous databases, improved flexible and various cryptograph query by building ciphertext index, and designed and implemented the encryption and decryption system on the heterogeneous database. The theoretic analysis and the experimental results show that the system can support various types of heterogeneous databases, provides multi-mode cryptograph queries and increases the security of database encryption.
