TL;DR: In this paper, the possible causes and consequences of tectonic decoupling within the oceanic upper mantle and the subsequent displacement of ophiolites are considered with specific reference to the petrology, chemistry and structure of the basal mantle tectonites of oophiolites and their metamorphic soles.
Abstract: Summary The possible causes and consequences of tectonic decoupling within the oceanic upper mantle and the subsequent displacement of ophiolites are considered with specific reference to the petrology, chemistry and structure of the basal mantle tectonites of ophiolites and their metamorphic soles. Investigations of the basal peridotites provide information on high temperature-high pressure events that have occurred in the upper mantle and on its mechanical properties at depths <15 km, while metamorphic soles reveal the pressure-temperature regimes operating during and as a direct result of overthrusting. Currently available age data from several well-documented ophiolites reveal that ophiolite igneous crystallization and basal metamorphism are broadly contemporaneous, in keeping with the localized occurrence of granulite-facies sole assemblages. Theories on the formation of sub-ophiolite metamorphic rocks are reviewed and the process of ophiolite inception is reappraised. It is concluded that many ophiolites are tectonically decoupled along the lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary and initially displaced as complete slices of hot, thin, immature lithosphere in close proximity to spreading centres.

Abstract: A case study that illustrates the use of nonlinear state feed back to decouple the control of a two-axis polar-coordinate robotic manipulator is presented. One type of position cou pling and two types of velocity coupling are investigated. In each case, the application of decoupling compensation results in marked improvement in the performance of the robotic arm. The implementation difficulties associated with apply ing a nonlinear state-feedback control law to an inexpensive, indirect-drive robotic arm, using a microcomputer controller and low-resolution sensors, are examined.

TL;DR: In this paper, a heated-window antenna is proposed by means of which the reception of long, medium and short-wave band transmissions is improved by using a heating-conductor arrangement.
Abstract: A heated-window antenna is proposed by means of which the reception of long, medium and short-wave band transmissions is improved. The heated-window antenna comprises a heating-conductor arrangement (11) which is connected to a battery (23) via a decoupling circuit (30). The decoupling circuit has a high-permeability core (24) with two coils (18, 20) which have a low resistance and a very high impedance for radio-frequency current. A third coil (25) which is wound on the core is used for extraction of the radio-frequency signal voltage. The second and third coils (20, 25) are preferably connected as an autotransformer.

TL;DR: In this paper, two-and three-frequency phase decoupling techniques are proposed to give approximate IP phase spectral behavior which can be used in practice to replace the older linear or quadratic phase fitting techniques.
Abstract: In each small range of frequency, most IP phase spectra can be represented by a linear function of the logarithm of frequency, and most inductive coupling phase spectra can be represented by a few terms in a power series in frequency. Here some new two- or three-frequency decoupling techniques are developed. They are simple and effective, and can give approximate IP phase spectral behaviour which is helpful to field data interpretation. Therefore they can be used in practice to replace the older linear or quadratic phase fitting techniques. A three-frequency smoothing technique is suggested, which can be used to decrease the effect of stochastic noise and survey error during decoupling.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors designed a decoupling line to decouple the metering pulses from pressure waves reflected on the injection valve, which was at the same time designed greater than half the product of the speed of sound in the fuel multiplied by the opening time of a metering valve.
Abstract: In a fuel injection device with at least one injection valve (10), with a fuel accumulator (14) under high pressure and with a metering valve (16) connected to the fuel accumulator (14), which valve during its opening phase feeds a metering pulse measuring the fuel injection quantity into a pressure line (21) leading to the injection valve (10), the pressure line (21), for the purpose of decoupling the metering process from the injection process, is designed as a decoupling line decoupling the metering pulses from pressure waves reflected on the injection valve (10). The length of the decoupling line is at the same time designed greater than half the product of the speed of sound in the fuel multiplied by the opening time of the metering valve (16) required for metering of the maximum fuel injection quantity.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a device for transmitting information via supply lines in the case of battery-operated vehicles which are connected to a supply point (docked), in order to charge the batteries.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for transmitting information via supply lines in the case of battery-operated vehicles which are connected to a supply point (docked), in order to charge the batteries. The measurements for the terminal voltage of the batteries are coupled in on the vehicle side on the incoming and outgoing lead for the charging current, via coupling elements, are coupled out on the side of the stationary charging apparatus and are supplied to the charging apparatus as control signals for the battery charging current. The information can be converted into radio-frequency signals by means of a voltage/frequency converter and can be coupled in or out on the supply lead, via coupling capacitors. Decoupling elements can be provided between the battery and the coupling-in point on the vehicle side and between the charging apparatus and the stationary coupling-out point. The device according to the invention allows the charging current of the batteries to be regulated in an optimum manner. The sliding contacts on a supply point for the transmission of the terminal voltage can be dispensed with.

Abstract: This paper deals with the problem of designing a precompensator, by using the frequency domain approach, for linear systems having weak inherent coupling such that the composite system will be decouplable through linear state variable feedback (l.s.v.f.) alone. Three algorithms are presented for such a purpose. The first one makes use of a new theorem for dynamic decoupling through l.s.v.f. alone, while the other two make use of the interactor concept. The algorithms always yield stable precompensators. Moreover, the controllability and observability of the composite system are guaranteed.

Abstract: The feasibility of broad band fluorine decoupling for 13C NMR spectroscopy, employing a new composite pulse sequence, is shown. The application of this sequence allows the decoupling of fluorine nuclei over almost the total range of chemical shifts in fluoroorganic compounds, at magnetic fields of up to 2.3 T, without extensive demands on the decoupler power amplifier. The range of expected chemical shifts of fluorine bonded to carbons is briefly discussed.

Abstract: The device is aimed at providing integrated circuits with efficient shielding against electromagnetic perturbation while producing effective decoupling from the power supply. The device consists of a component forming a capacitor integrated directly with the housing of the integrated circuit. The component consists of two parallel plane conductors each having a surface area substantially equal to that of the main surface of the integrated circuit. Each plane conductor is connected electrically to the corresponding power supply terminal pin of the integrated circuit. The two plane conductors are separated by a dielectric element. The device can equally well be used for integrated circuit supports as for the integrated circuits themselves.

TL;DR: In this article, a set of decoupling criteria for floor-mounted equipment is derived based on two decoupled models, the cascading model and the lumped model, and a solution is presented based on the two-degree-of-freedom system.
Abstract: Interest in the decoupling of such secondary systems as floor-mounted equipment centers on two decoupled models, the ''cascading'' model and the ''lumped'' model. A set of decoupling criteria is derived which addresses both models. The solution is based on the two-degree-of-freedom system. Error in predicted frequency given by each decoupled model is presented. Similar results for response error are derived based on broad-band input to the supporting system. The broad-band input would be applicable to subsystems supported by primary structures. Recommendations are made for extension of the problem to arbitrary multiple-degree-of-freedom systems. The findings of this study will provide the analyst with the information necessary to choose the best decoupled model and will indicate whether decoupling should be attempted.

Abstract: The use of a state variables feed-back current regulator working in a coordinate system turning with the synchronous field and oriented on the rotor flux allows to obtain a complete decoupling between the two stator current components control circuits and a dynamic behaviour independent of the working point A state regulator of the speed with a load torque observer is superposed on the current control circuits An application with a 1 kW squirel asynchronous machine fed by a transistors inverter shows that, with this control method, the asynchronous machine has a dynamic behaviour quite comparable with the DC motor one
