TL;DR: The latest version of PDT is described which is now integrated into the Eclipse platform, enabling the users to accomplish the full development life-cycle of an agent-oriented application in one IDE and also inherit the rich set of product development features that Eclipse provides.
Abstract: The Prometheus Design Tool (PDT) is a graphical tool that is used to design a Multi-Agent System following the Prometheus Methodology. This paper describes the latest version of PDT which is now integrated into the Eclipse platform, enabling the users to accomplish the full development life-cycle of an agent-oriented application in one IDE and also inherit the rich set of product development features that Eclipse provides. This version of PDT also aims to support simpler integration with tools from other AOSE methodologies where appropriate.

TL;DR: An approach intended to fill in the gap between the existing Object Analysis and Design methods applying mostly top-down technique and the demand of the middleware architectures (OMG CORBA) for the information system development based on composition of pre-existing interoperating components is discussed.
Abstract: An approach intended to fill in the gap between the existing Object Analysis and Design (OAD) methods applying mostly top-down technique and the demand of the middleware architectures (OMG CORBA) for the information system development based on composition of pre-existing interoperating components is discussed. An overview of the SYNTHESIS method for component-based interoperable information systems design is presented. The heuristic procedure for the most common reduct construction for a pair of ontologically relevant type specifications is outlined. The refinement property of the common reduct leads to a justifiable identification of reusable component fragments. The process of design is based on such identification driven by ontologically relevant pairs of types. The common reducts discovered are composed further to construct specifications serving as concretizations of the required types. The structure and functions of the design tool supporting the SYNTHESIS method and a process of design under the tool are considered.

TL;DR: In this work, the e-beam shape, as a characteristic parameter of electron-optical properties, is calculated by field-emission simulation modeling and the extracted parameters with the best performance for each type of FE device were represented to be fabricated by a VLSI technique.
Abstract: A method to optimize the focusing quality of integrally gated CNT field-emission (FE) devices by combining field-emission modeling and a computational intelligence technique, genetic algorithm (GA), is proposed and demonstrated. In this work, the e-beam shape, as a characteristic parameter of electron-optical properties, is calculated by field-emission simulation modeling. Using a design tool that combines GA and physical modeling, a set of structural and electrical parameters for four FE device groups, including double-gate, triple-gate, quadruple-gate and quintuple-gate type, were optimized. The resultant FE devices exhibit satisfactory e-beam focusabilities and the extracted parameters with the best performance for each type of FE device were represented to be fabricated by a VLSI technique. The GA-based automatic design parameter extraction will significantly benefit the design of integrated electron-optical systems for versatile vacuum micro- and nano-electronic applications.
