TL;DR: In this article, the authors report the findings of a study to determine destination attributes critical to the over-all satisfaction levels of tourists visiting Mallorca, Spain, during the winter season.
Abstract: A number of research studies have investigated tourist satisfaction with mass tourism destinations, particularly during the peak (summer) season. However, there has been limited investigation of tourist satisfaction with off-season holiday destinations. This article reports the findings of a study to determine destination attributes critical to the over-all satisfaction levels of tourists visiting Mallorca, Spain, during the winter season. Their future holiday intentions also are investigated. Findings are analyzed, and implications and limitations are discussed.

TL;DR: This paper aims to take advantage from the development of Smart Cities by conceptualising framework for Smart Tourism Destinations through exploring tourism applications in destination and addressing both opportunities and challenges it possessed.
Abstract: The rapid development of technologies introduces smartness to all organisations and communities. The Smart Tourism Destinations (STD) concept emerges from the development of Smart Cities. With technology being embedded on all organisations and entities, destinations will exploit synergies between ubiquitous sensing technology and their social components to support the enrichment of tourist experiences. By applying smartness concept to address travellers’ needs before, during and after their trip, destinations could increase their competitiveness level. This paper aims to take advantage from the development of Smart Cities by conceptualising framework for Smart Tourism Destinations through exploring tourism applications in destination and addressing both opportunities and challenges it possessed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared US international tourists' images of four Mediterranean destinations (Turkey, Egypt, Greece, and Italy) for both visitors and nonvisitors, and found that significant differences exist in all image components between the four destination countries.
Abstract: This study compares US international pleasure travelers’ images of four Mediterranean destinations—Turkey, Egypt, Greece, and Italy—for both visitors and nonvisitors The image construct was conceptualized as having three components: cognitive, affective, and overall image MANOVA analysis indicated that significant differences exist in all image components between the four destination countries The findings revealed strengths and weaknesses of the four competing destinations and implications for positioning in the US international pleasure market as well as product development and promotion strategy for the destinations
