TL;DR: In this article, an integrated optical ring resonator waveguide surrounded by an upper bus and a lower bus waveguide is described. But the authors do not specify the design of the resonator.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated optical ring resonator waveguide surrounded by an upper bus and a lower bus waveguide. A first resonant and intense optical wave is coupled into the upper bus whereas a second resonant optical wave is coupled into the lower bus. These resonant waves propagate from one bus to the other through the resonator in opposite directions. The first wave modulates the core refractive index of the resonator (Kerr effect) and thereby shifts the resonant conditions of the resonator. This results in the amplitude modulation of the second wave at its non-resonant port. Through this process, the optical amplitude modulation pattern of the first wave is transferred to the second wave. Optical wavelength switching is achieved when the waves have different wavelengths. In alternative embodiments and methods of driving the resonator, the resonator can achieve filtered wavelength tuning, add-and-drop multiplexing, space switching and intensity modulation.

TL;DR: In this article, the analysis of TE modes in a composite multilayered cylindrical dielectric resonator is presented, which is a special case of the structure under consideration.
Abstract: The analysis of TE modes in a composite multilayered cylindrical dielectric resonator is presented. All cylindrical dielectric resonator structures which have found some practical applications can be treated as a special case of the structure under consideration. These include: single resonator, double resonator, ring resonator, resonator in microstrip, inhomogeneous resonator and others. A new rigorous method of determining the field distribution and resonant frequency of this resonator is presented. By this method the solution is obtained in a form of successive approximations converging to an exact solution. The analysis is applied in detail to the lowest frequency TE mode of double dielectric resonator.

TL;DR: In this article, a resonator element capable of improving impact resistance is provided, which is formed by etching a Z plate which is cut at predetermined angles with respect to the crystal axes of a quartz crystal.
Abstract: A resonator element capable of improving impact resistance is provided. A quartz crystal resonator element is a resonator element formed by etching a Z plate which is cut at predetermined angles with respect to the crystal axes of a quartz crystal. The quartz crystal resonator element includes a base, a pair of resonating arms extending from the base in the Y-axis direction, and a positive X-axis notch and a negative X-axis notch formed by notching the base in the X-axis direction. The positive X-axis notch is formed by notching the base from the negative side of the X axis towards the positive side so that the width of the positive X-axis notch increases as it approaches the outer circumference.

TL;DR: In this article, a frequency multiplier circuit is incorporated in the RF tag to provide a response signal that occupies a frequency band at a frequency above the second frequency, and multiple resonators having different resonant frequencies are utilized to generate a response code.
Abstract: An RF tag having an antenna for receiving a RF signal having a frequency band between first and second frequencies and an acoustical resonator having a resonant frequency related to the first and second frequencies. The acoustical resonator has first and second electrodes that sandwich a layer of piezoelectric material. The antenna is connected to one of these electrodes. The resonator filters the signal received on the antenna. The filter can function either as a notch filter or as a bandpass filter. A resonator that acts as a bandpass filter includes a third electrode and a second layer piezoelectric material sandwiched between the second electrode and the third electrode. A frequency multiplier circuit may be incorporated in the RF tag to provide a response signal that occupies a frequency band at a frequency above the second frequency. In one embodiment of the present invention, multiple resonators having different resonant frequencies are utilized to generate a response code. In one embodiment of the present invention, the resonators are suspended on a support member over a substrate at locations on the support member which differ in thickness.

TL;DR: An antenna system includes a dielectric structure formed on a substrate; an antenna, partially within the dielectrics structure, and supported by the surface; a reflective surface formed on the substrate as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: An antenna system includes a dielectric structure formed on a substrate; an antenna, partially within the dielectric structure, and supported by the dielectric structure; a reflective surface formed on the substrate. A shield blocks radiation from a portion of the antenna and from at least some of the dielectric structure. The shield is supported by the dielectric structure.
