TL;DR: A multimode composite resonator as mentioned in this paper is a multi-mode composite cavity that includes a resonant cavity, dielectric resonator element disposed inside the cavity, a tuning element for each mode and a coupling element for coupling between modes.
Abstract: A multimode composite resonator, in particular for a microwave filter, includes a resonant cavity, a dielectric resonator element disposed inside the cavity, a tuning element for each mode and a coupling element for coupling between modes. The resonator element is shaped to have plural vertices which are short-circuited together by the conductive walls of the cavity via direct or RF electrical contact between the vertices and the walls. Various geometrical resonator shapes are possible.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an approach to adjust the distance between the resonator and the waveguide in order to change the optical coupling between the resonance and waveguide, which provides a mechanically tunable interferometer.
Abstract: An optical device has at least one waveguide with at least one adjacent resonator, where the distance between the resonator and the waveguide can be controllably adjusted to change the optical coupling between the resonator and the waveguide. When implemented as part of an interferometer, the ability to adjust the waveguide/resonator distance—and thereby the optical coupling between them—provides a mechanically tunable interferometer.

TL;DR: In this paper, the construction and design equations of a microwave resonator which can be used as sample cavity in a low-frequency ESR spectrometer are described, and four prototypes have been built and a good match has been found between the experimental values of the resonant frequencies and the theoretical ones.
Abstract: The construction and the design equations of a microwave resonator which can be used as sample cavity in a low-frequency ESR spectrometer are described. The resonator, which has the form of a re-entrant square cavity, has a Q factor of the order of 1000 and a maximum filling factor of 0.25. The resonant frequency can be conveniently evaluated using a very simple equivalent circuit which can be adapted to any shape of resonator. Four prototypes have been built and a good match has been found between the experimental values of the resonant frequencies and the theoretical ones. This agreement has been found to be particularly good for low values of the gap thickness.

TL;DR: In this article, a dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with dual-polarization characteristics was proposed for use in a 3D microwave tomography system to collect copolar and crosspolar responses.
Abstract: We present a design for a dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with dual-polarization characteristics. This antenna is designed for use in a three-dimensional (3-D) microwave tomography system to collect copolar and cross-polar responses. The broadside radiation and dual polarization are achieved by exciting the fundamental mode of the DRA as well as by using two elements of the DRA that are perpendicular to each other. Compared to the conventional rectangular DRA, the proposed antenna is reduced in size by a factor of 6.7. The proposed DRA offers a measured bandwidth of 72% (2.6-5.52 GHz). The performance and radiation characteristics of the antenna are verified experimentally.
