20 Oct 2005TL;DR: The development of QoS based analysis techniques and tools to facilitate composition decision making in service-oriented architecture are discussed.
Abstract: Service-oriented architecture provides a framework for achieving static/dynamic reconfigurability. When system requirements change, new composition of services can be determined to satisfy the new requirements. However, analysis is required to make appropriate service selections and service configurations. In this paper, we discuss the development of QoS based analysis techniques and tools to facilitate composition decision making.

06 May 2014TL;DR: In this article, the authors present devices, methods, and systems for providing negotiation between IoT Things, IoT entities, and/or IoT applications as a service (IaaS).
Abstract: Disclosed herein are devices, methods, and systems for providing negotiation between IoT Things, IoT entities, and/or IoT applications as a service. IoT entities may be admitted to a negotiation service that may locate a target service and request service from the target service on behalf of the requesting IoT entity. A variety of services and related parameter may be negotiated, such as a work schedule for a set of devices performing a similar function in a similar space, price of service, and duration of service.

TL;DR: In this paper, a facility is provided for selecting one of service servers of different service contents on the basis of the user records of service users in a service providing system including shopping service systems.
Abstract: Since in a conventional service providing system including shopping service systems, the service servers are selected by the service users so that the service condition cannot be configurable such that certain specific users are eligible to connect to high quality, high performance service servers while other users are not. In accordance with the present invention, in a service providing system including shopping service systems, a facility is provided for selecting one of service servers of different service contents on the basis of the user records of service users.

TL;DR: The following flow-oriented architectures for quality of service assurance in IP networks are surveyed: Integrated Services, Connectionless Approach to QoS guarantees, Dynamic Packet State, Caspian Networks and Anagran, the Feedback and Distribution method, flow-Based Differentiated Services, Flow-Aware Networking, and Flow-Aggregate-Based services.
Abstract: The following flow-oriented architectures for quality of service assurance in IP networks are surveyed: Integrated Services, Connectionless Approach to QoS guarantees, Dynamic Packet State, Caspian Networks and Anagran, the Feedback and Distribution method, Flow-Based Differentiated Services, Flow-Aware Networking, the Flow-State-Aware transport, and Flow-Aggregate-Based services. The reasons why flow-awareness attracted so much attention are explained, and the current studies as well as the development history of the solutions are presented. The following features of the discussed architectures are compared: flow definition, classes of service, architecture, and signaling. Also, their pros and cons, complexity, and scalability, as well as perspectives are assessed.

TL;DR: In this article, a practical economic and technical model for building commercial-grade electronic file delivery services that provide the same scale, predictability, and differentiated service levels as physical courier services traditionally used to move electronic data on physical media is presented.
Abstract: A practical economic and technical model for building commercial-grade electronic file delivery services that provide the same scale, predictability, and differentiated service levels as physical courier services traditionally used to move electronic data on physical media. Systems and methods for providing such services using a charge-back scheme based on congestion pricing are described.
