TL;DR: The paper addresses the impact of the mobile service agent concept on existing and upcoming telecommunication architectures such as IN, TMN and TINA and discusses architectural principles and requirements of a distributed agent environment supporting mobile service agents.
Abstract: Today many countries are aiming for the establishment of national information infrastructures in order to satisfy the emerging needs of the upcoming information society. This infrastructure should provide the foundation of an "electronic marketplace", where information services and telecommunication services will be offered by competitive service providers to arbitrary customers. The rapid and customized provision of services, which we call "intelligence on demand" represents an important prerequisite for the realization of a dynamic market place. In this context the concept of "mobile service agents" offers a new paradigm for the rapid and customized provision of services in open distributed processing environments. We illustrate the differences between telecommunication services based on the traditional, i.e. RPC-based client/server paradigm, and service implementations based on mobile service agents. We also discuss architectural principles and requirements of a distributed agent environment supporting mobile service agents. To show the benefits of mobile agent technology and specifically its application for the realization of mobile service agents, the paper addresses the impact of the mobile service agent concept on existing and upcoming telecommunication architectures such as IN, TMN and TINA.

TL;DR: The extended WFQ algorithm adjusts the weighting of each class dynamically so that the delay differences between classes can be well controlled and can realize proportional delay differentiation service effectively and efficiently.
Abstract: Differentiation service (Diffserv) is regarded as one of the practical architectures to realize quality of service (QoS) on the Internet Relative differentiated service, which achieves relative QoS differentiation between traffic classes, is a simple and easily-deployed service model Based on the concept of relative differentiated service, Dovrolis et al (ACM SIGMETRICS Performance Evaluation Review vol27, no1, pp204-5, 1999; IEEE Network, September 1999; ACM SIGCOMM-99, September 1999) proposed a proportional differentiation service model which guarantees the ratios of service differences between classes They claimed that weighted fair queuing (WFQ) is not suitable for implementing relative differentiation service and employed priority-based scheduling algorithms in their model In this paper, we extend WFQ and apply it to proportional delay differentiation service The extended WFQ algorithm adjusts the weighting of each class dynamically so that the delay differences between classes can be well controlled Simulations show that the proposed methods can realize proportional delay differentiation service effectively and efficiently

TL;DR: This paper proposes a fast and reliable service composition approach to integrate the physical network, cyberspace, and social network and applies it to real-world dataset and showed that the proposed approach has better reliability as well as lower time cost than other approaches.
Abstract: Cyber-physical-social systems comprise physical, cyber, and social worlds with various resources as services. The operation and configuration of these services require service composition approaches that can be used to integrate essential components in these worlds, and organize and share relevant information as needed. Although the present service-oriented architecture can effectively support service composition, there still exist many challenges such as high time cost and low reliability for cyber-physical-social systems. In this paper, we propose a fast and reliable service composition approach to integrate the physical network, cyberspace, and social network. In this approach, first, skyline component computation is performed to reduce the solution space; then, the coefficient of variation is employed to filter the components with high quality of service (QoS) fluctuation and finally the best optimal components are selected by maximizing the fitness function based on users’ end-to-end QoS requirements. We applied our approach to real-world dataset and the results showed that our proposed approach has better reliability as well as lower time cost than other approaches.

TL;DR: In this article, the dependancies of a computer service are modeled hierarchically and the relationships between the computer service and the hardware and software services upon which it depends are contained in data structures defining a directed acyclic graph.
Abstract: The dependancies of a computer service are modeled. The modeling hierarchically defines the relationships between the computer service and the hardware and software services which the computer service depends. These relationships may be contained in data structures defining a directed acyclic graph. The model also defines which measurements need to be taken to determine health and performance of the computer service and the health and performance of all the computer services upon which the computer service depends. Software agents that take these measurements may be deployed using the model to determine the measurement locations and functions. Data from measurement agents may be propagated up the model hierarchy. The model (200) may also be visualized by a graphical interface to communicate the dependancies and the health and status of the services upon which the modeled service depends.

TL;DR: In this article, a system and method for managing service interactions is presented, where a process that is defined by a programming abstraction based on a syntax of a general purpose programming language is initiated and the process requests the service to perform an action.
Abstract: A system and method for managing service interactions launches a process that is defined by a programming abstraction based on a syntax of a general purpose programming language. Interaction with a service, such as a web-based service, is initiated and the process requests the service to perform an action. Execution of the process is suspended until a response is received from the service. Execution of the process continues after receiving a response from the service.
